The things I have been saying are well known in the USA. Maybe it's very different in your country. Are you ethnocentric? The USA IS her country!!!!Oh come on. She said her patients are mostly Asian. Are you crazy?????

So what, if her patients are Asian. You made an assumption about a person you chose not to get to know. You owe her an apology!
You & joymarty (aka jamminhealth) are like a tag team at these boards. I've gotta ask...were you also banned from SF like she was?

My "assumption" was that I thought maybe she was not in the US, since most of her patients are Asian. There is nothing wrong with that. In the US it is well known that large numbers of people take antidepressants. You don't like joymarty or me because we question mainstream medicine. It deserves to be questioned. But some people need to have blind faith in something, and hate to see it criticized.

Your statement (in bold) is particularly true of you and joymarty. Could it be possible that some don't like you or her because you are condescending and RUDE?????
By the way, interesting screen name you've chosen...very descriptive! N'est ce pas?

good4nothin, what good is it preaching your beliefs in health here? You need to take your beliefs to Congress in order to get anything changed. I come here for fun, not to be preached at! Not enough of us here to help your cause. If you are happy with your beliefs, I am happy for you!

nkat I had no idea when I joined this forum that it was pro-mainstream medicine. I expected to have interesting discussions about pros and cons of mainstream medicine, and of holistic medicine. I am not devoted to either. I am very interested in health. I don't know why you come here for fun when this is not an entertainment forum. It should be a place to learn and exchange ideas. But I see that it isn't.

Having FUN? I've been on health forums for over 15 yrs and they've saved me from the toxins of pharma drugs. I think going on 81 soon and hardly any toxic drugs is a pretty good testimony. I've had bad times and ended up in the ER due to a drug in the 80's and that was my turningpoint. My daughter was in ICU due to drug interactions.
I tell my story and what others choose is their business. I don't judge them and they SHOULD not judge me for what I choose to do. People can take what they want and they do. And it's sad when I read of all the stories of those in old age homes being propped up to keep them alive and many younger than me. j

And I was told about this group from a member of another CONSERVATIVE group that I tried to be a member of and it was like wizzing against the wind, I was so outnumbered and when I had found it I had no clue it was so Conservative...and I mean hard core in everything. I'm gone from there as I have no desire to deal with any of those people.
I have a home group that I'm a member and their Political group is like the wild west and I hardly go there...it's just nuts.
I love good health, some politics and play some of the games. Try to keep well rounded. j

And if my memory serves me right, instructions in joining here were using a derivitatve of your real names...that's what I've used here. I see that's not the case with a lot of members...SO. Joy is a part of my first name and Marty part of my last name. So much on the usernames.

Well... I am a non-practicing clinical psychologist working as a department director for a government agency but when I did practice I noticed that the patients I treated (internal HR employees) the majority case I dealt with concerned stress related issues and I actually agree with chinadoll1981 the majority of the individuals that I saw did not require medication. Most of my work concerned itself with EAP work and or family therapy and in many cases medication might be contraindicated for those individuals in sensitive National security positions that my agency deals with. I know many of my colleagues in various private clinical practices don't normally jump instantly to a medication regiment unless their patients absolutely require such. The myth is that "all psychiatrists do is hand out pills" just isn't accurate. Most at least in my experience, are very frugal in writing prescriptions for major psychotropic medications especially these days when so many people are "shopping" for medications. My medical director working for me on my team is a psychiatrist and she has written only one employee prescription in her several years at the agency. Granted, that may be an artifact of working in National Security but she also was in private practice in Australia prior to working for us and generally did more "talking therapy" rather than relying on her script pad.

We can read various sources and use our logic and judgment. Whenever I criticize mainstream medicine, someone always tells me I have no right to criticize if I am not a medical expert. And you have done that here. So if we are not expert medical researchers, we should be trusting sheep and never question the authorities. You can live that way if you want, but I think for myself.

We can think and have opinions and use logic and common sense. Most things have never been researched, and the ones that have are often contradictory and confusing. Eggs are one example. In my opinion, eggs are ok, after having read both sides. In general, I believe anything that is very unnatural, that our bodies did not evolve with, is likely to be unhealthy. That is why I question the overuse of drugs, and why I believe a good lifestyle is the best "medicine." And so many others feel the same way now. It's strange that some of you here are so offended by that idea.
