It's amazing when I think of how my parents and their parents raised their children and they all lived long lives and did NOT give their children all the toxic drugs from today's Modern Medicine World of High Profits $$$$... I guess their medicines were all a cult.
Honey, cod liver oil, hydrogen peroxide, aspirin, vicks, and it goes on and on and today...omg, the pricey toxic drugs.
And so many putting a "cult" name on these natural remedies. geeezzzzz These are for the most part Alternatives and Vicks is one of my today's salve for OA feet.

good4nothin , If you take a breath first, then re-read my reply slowly, you'll realize that I was affirming your right to express your opinion...as long as you're not attempting to promote it as fact. This isn't the first time I expressed an opinion here and you got all aggravated and demanded proof. Correction- it appears that it is YOU that is "getting all aggravated". You should try brushing up on your reading skills, then you'll understand that my only criticism of your posts have nothing to do with your opinion, only your tendency to present your opinion as fact.

I decided that this argument will likely never end with any positive outcome, so I'm simply abandoning my effort here. I hope you're happy with...whatever-it-is that makes you happy believing about what you think of Wikipedia, what people have said, or what you believe people think of your opinion.

But it is an incredible story, what they did to my friend, isn't it? I mean, what were they thinking? Or not thinking? How terribly irresponsible, to not mention the risk to her once in 8 years. And if I weren't someone who knows how to research medical questions online, she still wouldn't know.

And if I weren't someone who knows how to research medical questions online..... ...shows you at least have a sense of humor. THEY don't care. We're stuck with the damage. Not them. This issue is on my mind a lot as it's discussed a lot on another health group. And yesterday my friend who has developed some nasty issues in left hip, and she believes from 30 yrs of driving manual shift cars, well she knows the dangers of steroids but her Kaiser doc sorta talked her into to "trying" one and she was talking to me about it. I told her to talk to her pendulum to help make the decision for her body.

If one shot cures it, then fine. But she should not keep getting the shots year after year!

Your comments seem so negative and critical, but you never come out and say the reason. Well let me S P E L L it out for you, once again: it's evident that your online 'research' on medical questions consists of " cherry-picking" of answers that you want to hear. That is not a balanced or coherent way of searching for truth. Wikipedia is a valuable source for impartial, technically accurate articles. If a Wikipedia article calls your favorite holistic remedy "pseudoscience" and says observable scientific trials have been "inclusive" then perhaps that should give one pause. That being said, Wikipedia is only one of countless sources online. I usually search a wide variety of information sources, trying to get a "consensus" on a given supplement(for example). The tenancy to "shoot the messenger" is as old as human society, but is an irrational practice still to this day.
joymarty and good4nothin, While I welcome conversation on alternative or holistic or Chinese or Indian(Ayurvedic) medicine, and certainly have no attachment or favor for Western(big pharma) medicine, I nevertheless take exception when opinion is presented as fact. If that concept is hard for you to understand or accept, then our ability to communicate here is going to be strained.

If that concept is hard for you to understand or accept, then our ability to communicate here is going to be strained. I don't think you read my post. It is a FACT that Elise was given cortisone injections for 8 years, several times a year. It is a FACT that during that 8 years her osteoporosis got much worse and is now severe. Her bones are too fragile for spinal fusion surgery, which she needs. It is a FACT that Elise was not warned about this terrible side effect by her doctors. It is a FACT that I researched it online and told Elise what I found. It is a FACT that when Elise asked her doctor if cortisone injections could cause or worsen osteoporosis, the doctor said "absolutely." So what are you complaining about? This post was all based on facts. It is a FACT that cortisone can cause or worsen osteoporosis, and that it has many other damaging side effects. What do you find about this post that is not factual and accurate? You often seem very confused.

What do you find about this post that is not factual and accurate? I could care less that post, that was not at all my focus of criticism, which you should know , had you made any effort to understand my post, rather than spending your energy on how you can further argue and obfuscate. You often seem very confused. That is a typical "come back" I've seen before, from other similarly close minded individuals. Don't bother responding, I won't waste another moment trying to reason with someone like you and your penchant for circular logic.

You don't care about my post, but you comment on it. And you get all angry about it, but you never say why! And deny that you're angry. No amount of effort could make anyone understand your comments. I think you are arguing with someone else, not me.
