And what does that prove? That cortisone shots cured whatever was wrong with your foot? And we are then supposed to assume cortisone shots actually repair the damage that causes pain, rather than just temporarily dulling pain? It's hard to figure out what you are saying. The original post was supposed to be about the dangerous side effects of cortisone shots, and how doctors don't always warn their patients. What does that prove? It proves, it helped my pain with only receiving one shot of cortisone. I had no side effects from it. So, because I'm not agreeing with you that this shot is dangerous, in your opinion, that what I had to share, that worked for me, bothered you? Pffffft! That is not scientific evidence! It doesn't prove that the cortisone actually cured whatever was wrong with your foot. You disagree that cortisone can be dangerous, based on your interpretation of one experience. You simply don't want to believe that any doctors are ever careless with drugs.

She decided that cortisone shots are not dangerous, based on one experience. But it is well known that steroids in general are harmful, especially if taken long term. She had one shot. And there is no reason to think that one shot actually cured anything. She just needs to have complete faith in medical doctors.

A what age does paranoia set in so I can prepare myself for it? You aren't interested in having a rational conversation about this. You had one cortisone shot, and therefore you know they don't cause side effects and they cure injuries. All you want to do is disagree and insult us because of our age. Maybe, if you're lucky, you will be old someday. I hope young people will insult you with ageist remarks.

You have no idea what age Drifter is, do you?
All she did was share a personal anecdote about her experience with a cortisone injection, and your response is to get all defensive and argumentative. Both you and your pal joymarty have made various false assumptions about members here, which in itself is insulting.
My tendency is to roll my eyes at the two of you. You give the appearance of being here mainly to persuade people to 'convert' to your way of thinking on medical matters. You seem intolerant of other viewpoints. Can you please tell us whether you, or both, were banned from some other forum before you came here? Enquiring minds want to know!!!

This was Drifter's comment, which I responded to: "At what age does paranoia set in so I can prepare myself for it?" You will defend each other no matter what. Drifter's reply to my post was not relevant or rational. And there was nothing wrong with my noticing that. I believe that some drugs are over-prescribed, and that this can harm patients. My description of Elsie was just one example of how devastating this can be.

good4nothin, you didn't answer my question:
"Can you please tell us whether you, or both, were banned from some other forum before you came here? Enquiring minds want to know!!!"

I can speak for me, and I'm an active member of 5-6 forums, some strictly health and others diversified. And why does it matter where I've been on the forums. I could care less where members are and have been.
And I'll say it until the cows come home, I'm not a fan of toxic pharma drugs. I've been working many years on finding alternatives for any health issue that comes to me. This is where I go FIRST.
On a major group I'm a member we have a huge handful of pharma people and many work for pharma industry in some way and so they won't knock the hands that feed them. And MANY are very alternative and holistic.

Well, Drifter, not too cool talking about members. Hope all are happy with your info. I'm not sure what SF means, can you say.
Could be too, people who have strong opinions threaten others...
If a person has strong convictions and believes in themselves, they would not feel threatened by others..I've been on this earth long enough to "get that"...
How about living and let live. I was under impression that being a moderator one SHOULD BE unbiased but that is not true in many cases.
At 81, I consider myself oldish but don't call myself old as our mind collects those not endearing terms.

Drifter's reply to my post was not relevant or rational. Sure it was. Both you women sound paranoid about everything related to health issues. So, I was wondering at what age paranoia starts setting in. You know, like dementia and Alzheimer's does. Not that I'm saying either one of you have those two, but when members try sharing what works for them, you have a hissy fit and go on the attack. At 66...you consider yourself OLD? Wholly cow! Luck will have nothing to do with getting to a ripe old age. It's all in the way one takes care of themselves.

San Francisco??? Or was it Senior Forums? Why do some need to dwell on where some members have been? I don't get that, for me, I could care less about that and their lives.

At 81, I consider myself oldish but don't call myself old as our mind collects those not endearing terms. I find it mind boggling that you edit your posts so often to add to them, like the above in bold print.
Strong opinions never threaten me. I welcome them. Nor will they ever control me posting my own opinion on a subject.
Sigh...first and foremost, I am a member first. I post within our TOS. If you have a complaint, please feel free to use the "report a post" feature (located in the little gear, in the top right corner of a post) and report what you are taking issue with. The other 2 administrators will deal with it in an impartial way. Just make sure it's really a reportable offense, which you can find out what is, here.
