Sorta under the weather the past couple days. Wonder if a slight reaction to the RSV shot on Friday. Arm still sore, yesterday, but didn't think much of it. Ran a couple errands, but it was cold and didn't leave the house for long. Just feeling a little tired. The tired had me in bed around 8 p.m. Never go to bed that early. Not planning on golf due to cold weather, so didn't set an alarm. ALWAYS up before 5 a.m. even without an alarm. Woke and looked at the bedside clock. 7:03!!! Slept 11 hours!!! Never remember doing that in my life! Still sorta punk today. Ran to grocery this morning and right back home. Spent most of the day in my chair with the electric throw...and the dog... on my lap. Not sick. Not achy. Just overtired. At well, so assume will be back good as new tomorrow. Who knows. Just need them to send this old horse to the glue factory!! :<) 2old, hope you'll feel back to your normal peppy self in another day or so!

Much better today. Think it must have been a reaction to the RSV vaccine. Once the course opened after a frost delay, I was going to go play about noon. Before I could get out of the house, had a number of things re the Annual Membership Meeting later in November hit. Spent too much time with texts and emails and gave up the idea of playing golf. Went for a 2 mile walk later in the afternoon.

Daughter back in States after 10 days overseas. She has been with the University Alumni Association for 27 years. The past few years, she hosts cruises and tours for the association's members. This year, she flew to Rome. They boarded a ship, there. Toured Italy, Greece, Malta, and Croatia. Flew back into Minneapolis yesterday. On to KC late last night. Stayed in a hotel and will drive back here this morning.
Worried sick all the time she was gone. Never worried before. With all the unrest in the Mideast...and really worldwide... didn't know what to expect. This is her second overseas excursion this year. May ask her to take a hiatus until some of the unrest settles down...if it ever does.

2old, so glad that your daughter had a terrific time overseas, which sounds to have been thrilling. It's normal for parents to worry, especially nowadays, but it seems they stuck to safe destinations. You're going to love hearing all the details of her exciting travels, and viewing any photos/film she brought home. I hope she has souvenirs for you and the rest of the family!

formerlyme Never stop worrying, do we. When she hosts these cruises, there is no cost to her. If her husband can accompany her, he goes for half price. They've been on a Mediterranean cruise, European cruise, Alaskan cruise. Her husband just taken on some new responsibility within the company he's been with for over 30 years and didn't feel he could go on this one. She's been able to see and do things she never dreamed of. Her younger sister has been the one who has traveled, wined and dined with corporate folk, etc. This has really given them some commonality they both enjoy. So many times we've seen siblings estranged, especially as the parents age. These two could not stand each other as youngsters. Fingers crossed that the relationship we've seen grow strong over this past few years lasts them into their late years.

Since we woke up to 22ºF this morning, I did laundry in the morning. When it reached 48ºF at 1PM, I went outdoors and blew leaves for 3 hours.

Golf club annual membership meeting this evening. 60 some members out of 400 show up. Staff reports. Committee reports. CPA financial reports. 2024 budget and fees proposed and voted on.
This is my 6th and last year on the Board. Chaired tonight's meeting due to being President this year. Always discussion/complaints about finances or course conditions...something. Tonight, nothing but compliments. Was anticipating the typical few complainers to have some burr under their collar. Nothing! One who you can depend on to have something he would like changed/improved made motions to accept a couple of tonight's reports. I am leaving the Board with the course in the best financial condition in history. We are almost complete with the construction of a new $500k maintenance facility. We have the best staff from clubhouse to grounds of any course in the northeast section of our state. It's been a work in progress this past 6 years. Just before I was elected to the Board, we had a terrible run of Boards. "If we keep an employee more than 2 years we will have to pay them too much!" There were no employee benefits...vacation, insurance, retirement. Course conditions suffered. Membership was dropping. Financial condition was questionable. In the past 6 years we have added benefits for employees. We have recruited a couple of the best professionals to operate the course. You have to have professionals if you want a course that attracts people. Our GM has the best and largest youth program in the entire state. During the summer we may see 50 kids chipping and putting as he and his staff work with them.
Lots of compliments, this evening, to our entire Board. Was cautioned that just because my time on the Board is expiring, don't change my phone number! I was a little nervous how the meeting would go. Came home with a smile on my face and will sleep well tonight.

I go for my annual Fluzone Shot early this evening. It's freezing cold outside, so I'll bundle up.
I expect to spend the next day or so feeling somewhat 'under the weather', as usual, so will take it easy, probably watch a few movies and take naps if/when needed.
Hope everyone is having a pleasant weekend.

Hope everyone is having a pleasant weekend. Glad to see you're getting vax'd and hopefully stay well during the winter. Time with daughters and granddaughters. One son-in-law I couldn't wait to see him leave! :<(. Big Trump supporter. Probably hasn't held one job a full year during their 25+ year marriage. Daughter makes big dollars and he just enjoys it. Bass fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, dirt biking, camping... Too busy to work!! Really a nice weekend. One of the wife's girlfriend's birthday is today. She's widowed and her kids don't live close. Mentioned it would be a lonely weekend. Wife got some of the other girlfriends together and they went to her apartment and partied!! Snow was starting so I took the wife and picked up two of her other friends on the way. Dropped them off and returned to pick them up. The "birthday girl" had a ball and was so appreciative of them for not forgetting her on a special day. Now snowing. ~4" on the ground and supposed to keep snowing for another couple hours. Beautiful outside.

2old, I must say that you are a kind person, and a most supportive husband. Glad your wife & friends had a fun party, and made one lady very happy on her special day.

Yesterday I went to have blood drawn for my semi-annual battery of tests. I'll see my family doctor in a few weeks to get all the results (AIC blood sugar, thyroid/TSH, triglycerides, etc., etc.) I expect everything to be okay.
Today I slept in late, have had an uneventful day except for routine chores and amusements.

Tuesday, one of the wife's girlfriends fell on the ice. Laid outside her apartment until another apartment dweller helped her up and into her home. Called my wife and wanted to go to the emergency room.
We had a walker in the garage. I tossed it in the trunk and we headed over. Her leg and knee were virtually unusable due to the pain. Got her in the car and to the ER about 1:00 p.m. ER told her it would be 2 to 2 1/2 hours before they could see her due to so many ahead. It was a little after 4:00 p.m. before they got her in.
We stayed there, off and on, while she was waiting. Went back to her apartment. Put her car in the garage. Got a charger for her cell phone, etc. Soon after she was taken back...the wife accompanied her...another friend arrived to take my wife's place. Both are widows and live alone so the second lady spent two nights with her.
Fractured kneecap. They don't think surgery is necessary. In a brace and on crutches for a few weeks. Trying to get all the older ladies to get the alarm necklaces. Amazing how they feel they don't need one and think it would be embarrassing to wear one. Sheesh! It's life or death!!!

Truck has been giving me trouble. Minor things, but aggravating. Almost 100,000 miles, but lots of life left. You can pay for quite a few repairs and still be less expensive than the insurance taxes on a new one!!
One of the issues has been the driver's seat adjustment. I always have it way back. It has not been moving forward when you push the button. Worried that if the wife or daughter have to drive it, they would need to move the seat forward. Have an appointment in about 10 days to get that and a couple other items fixed at the dealership.
Went out this morning and the seat was as far forward as it could go!! Don't know what happened during the night, but the seat evidently decided to change position on its own. Way too close to the steering wheel for me to get in.
Worked quite a while in the snow and cold trying to get it to move. Back tilts. Seat tilts. Just won't go backward. Finally gave up. Figured first of the week would need to call a tow truck to haul it the dealer. Wife asked if I thought she was small enough to squeeze in and drive it to the dealer. She has always been petite. Well, lets see.
Wife was able to get into the seat. Could work the pedals fine. Super! She can drive it to the dealer for me! Before getting out of the seat, she reached down and tried the seat button and...YEP!... the seat moved back where it belongs!! Now, I'm trying to live it down that she fixed something I couldn't!! Christmas candy at Krogers is 30% off for 3 days. Went over and got her some dark chocolate as a reward. Lots cheaper than a tow truck!!!!

I slept in late, then finished wrapping all the Christmas gifts. Otherwise, some usual minor chores.
I'll likely watch a movie later this afternoon.
