This afternoon I went to the Blood Collection Centre, to have blood drawn for several tests.
After that, I walked to Superstore (nice mild windless day) and stocked up on groceries and necessary household items, including a chocolate birthday cake for my grandson who turns 20 tomorrow.

The Source ~ that avatar is so cute. What a mess that little guy is making. QuickSilver ~ Enjoy Fiddler on the Roof. Wish I could go with you. Happy Birthday! I haven't done much so far this morning, but yesterday my 8 Y.O. twin grandsons spent the day with me, which was fun. They are really showing their individual personalities now. We watched a movie called "Ice Age". We have a routine set up where we play a board game called Aggravation. It is the same one I played with my two kids when they were young. Now that they are older, they complete the games we play. They used to get up and leave the table when they got bored or were losing.

I remember Aggravation! It most certainly was too. lol. I believe I probably even have it buried in a closet somewhere. Your post brought back fond memories for me, RubyK. Sitting around the table with family and friends playing a board game, actually talking to each other instead of texting, enjoying the people, and the snacks. I'm glad to hear families still do those things. Thanks for posting this. I think I might even go look for my board games. I hope I didn't donate all of them. lol. QuickSilver, a very Happy Birthday to you! Seeing a play is one of the best ways to celebrate a birthday. I mean besides a delicious birthday cake enjoyed with family and friends. My spouse treated me to "Wicked" for one of my birthdays. It was a wonderful play and a great surprise. Happy Birthday!!! Enjoy Fiddler. It's one of my favorites.

Off to another dealership this afternoon, and while we liked the Acura RDX, we didn't like the dealership itself. Won't be back, but may check out another Acura dealer. Feeling stronger today. A week ago I was stuck in bed all day.

Glad you are feeling better now, Bob. Buying a new car should cheer you up and make you feel better. What color Acura do you want to get?

Glad you are feeling better now, Bob. Buying a new car should cheer you up and make you feel better. What color Acura do you want to get? @rubyk, my wife would love to get the red exterior, but wants a light interior, a combo they don't seem to make. I think if we end up with the Acura RDX, it will be with the Advance package, which has all of the convenience and safety features we want. The test drive we went on was good, but the dealership left us cold. We won't be going back there. No one approached us for a good 15 minutes. We'll try another dealership. Still have to work out the financial details. Going to discuss with my financial planner next week. So far we've looked at the Lexus RX350, the Volvo XC60 and the Acura RDX. All good cars.

The play was absolutely marvelous.. I enjoyed every single second of it.. If you ever get the chance to see Fiddler on the Roof be sure to do it.. The music and stage performance are breath taking.. Afterward we went out for a particular favorite of mine.. Chicken wings and martinis.... It was a great way to kick off my birthday week... yes... week.. Normally I don't do a week of celebrating but hey... I'm turning 70 tomorrow!
Today we are going to go to the Museum downtown.. then to the John Handcock building to the lounge on the 96th floor for drinks and a seafood platter.. Sipping wine and eating oysters while looking out at my hometown from up in the sky sounds like a great close for today... doesn't it? I was born here... I will stay here..

Welcome to the 70's. It's the new 40's you know. It's sounds like a long and wonderful celebration. It also sounds like no matter what you do you'll have a great time. Happy Birthweek! I like the sound of that. lol.

I'm glad you're feeling better too, Bob. Oh, I know what you mean about service. We looked for a used car and the guy who was supposed to be selling it didn't know how to make the seat go down, didn't notice a flat tire on the car, wasn't sure how to pop the hood. I kid you not! It also took him a long time to ask if we needed help. Duh, we did but honestly he wasn't much help at all.
Good luck and enjoy your new car!

Went back to the Volvo dealership and took another drive. My wife raved about the car and clearly wants this one. It's the color she wants, the interior she wants and we both liked the interactions with the dealership thus far. Now have to see if we can make the numbers work. The XC60 has plenty of pep, lots of leg and head room, is easy to get into and out of, particularly with her bad knee. The car feels very nimble. She's already brought it up again since we've been home how much she liked the car. Found the seats more comfortable compared to the RDX and that's a huge factor for her in addition to roominess. I think we have a winner.
