We've now been in the new home for about six weeks. We've settled into a routine for the most part. Time is devoted each day to doing something to enhance our home in some way. I take daily walks with my camera in hand, documenting the growth of our new community. The other day we had business cards made up with our picture and contact info and the Vista Point Facebook group address. We'll hand them out to our new neighbors at an upcoming gathering that the builder is hosting. My wife shops for area rugs that we might like, or furniture that we need. Home Depot has become a frequent destination for things we need in the new house; the other day it was a good quality tape measure, a 24" level, a new hose and assorted other items as we slowly adjust to life here in Plymouth. Yesterday was a good example of why we wanted to move to a new community. We were visited by another couple who are building a home a few houses up the street from us. They're about our age, with grandkids, and we had a nice time going out to lunch with them and sharing our "Toll" stories about the building experience. My wife said afterwards that she was so happy here, can't believe we live in this new place, and that yesterday's lunch with new friends was exactly what she was hoping for. So for now we put up with the noise, the dust/dirt from the construction sites, the rumble of heavy equipment all around, and know that soon we'll have a bunch of new friends living in close proximity. Now if only the weather would improve!!! Spring has yet to make a full-fledged appearance here.

Lots going on here in our new home. Today the landscaping guys worked on our yard and put in a tree and sod in the front. One more step towards a complete home. Rugs have been ordered, porch furniture is on the way, window treatments are going up (my study finally has blinds!). Slowly but surely, this is turning into the house we envisioned. I've started a Facebook group for people who are buying here, which is helping us to meet our new neighbors. We've already met several couples and everyone has been so nice. Part of my regular routine has been documenting the growth of our little community. I think we're going to like it here.
