That house is gorgeous! Would love to have that kitchen! NKat Thanks. Can't wait to see it finished. We purposely chose an expanded kitchen to give us more counter space and cabinetry. Standing at the island will look into the great room and we'll have a flat panel TV on the wall over there at some point, rather than over the fireplace. We upgraded the appliances (all stainless steel, Kitchenaid) and think the granite will tie in nicely with the overall color scheme. Lots of lighting, both natural and artificial. Speakers in the ceiling for music or to hear the TV while cooking. I'll likely post more pictures next week.

Love the color of the tiles in the master bath.. Is the vanity Cherry? That's the color vanity I've picked out for my bath remodel.. I may show my designer your tile.. I like it very much..

This is Timberlake, Cherry Spice from the Sierra Vista Collection. Pairing it up with Granite called Netuno Bordeaux, which has a bit of a wine colored streak running through it. I found an image below. The tile is from Dal Tile, a style called Heathland Brick, color is called Raffia HL02. I put a shot below. Here's an image from Timberlake's website.

You know this is really happening when you start getting mail delivered to your home, addressed to the buyers who will be living here in less than three weeks.

How very nice, love the floors and the layout of the kitchen cabinets. My wife and I spent hours at the builder's design studio looking at floors and cabinets. We went back and forth on the floor choice, but love how this looks. Should coordinate well with our furniture, especially in the great room, where we have some nice cherrywood tables and an entertainment center. My wife is loving how much space she'll have for storing all the kitchen items. We purposely chose an expanded kitchen setup, which gave us more room.

Bob, it’s all coming together very nicely. Can I move in with you when it’s all done?

Bob , it’s all coming together very nicely. Can I move in with you when it’s all done? I think all we're waiting on at this point is the plot plan for our current house (title is all set and in good shape) and for the mortgage company to give the green light on our financing. While moving in might be problematic, I'll be sure to post a few shots as we get settled. It's nice to see it coming together after such a long time. We started this journey a year ago.

It all looks so nice! I think you and the Mrs. will be very happy living there! We opted not to screen it in, but can do so pretty easily if the bugs become an issue. Yes, the deck is larger than I'd pictured. We purposely left some of it exposed with no overhang so that I can grill out there. We're giving our existing porch furniture to the buyers of our home (a concession in exchange for them extending the closing into mid-Feb. The deck faces west, so we'll see some nice sunsets from out there given that we're also on a rise (the development is actually called Vista Point). Our current house is probably 85% packed at this point. The next two weeks will go by quickly. Our moving out day is on 2/14. We close on our current house the next day, then head down to Plymouth for the final walk through, then close on the new house on 2/16, drive back down to Plymouth to drop off some things and find a place locally to stay for the night. We move in on 2/17 in the morning. Already arranged for our cable/internet service to be put in that same afternoon. Yesterday I had my final haircut with the woman who has been cutting my hair for nearly 35 years. It was weird and a bit sad saying goodbye to her and the shop owner. More packing ahead of me today and over the weekend.

With my wife still fighting this nasty bug (and feeling no better now on day five), I spent much of the day doing more move-related activities. More packing and a harder-than-I-ever-imagined task involving taking down a bird feeder pole. The base of the pole is a steel ring about 2.5' in diameter. You can hold it stationary by using supplied steel stakes that you pound into the ground and hook over the metal ring. It must have taken me a good hour to get it free from the frozen ground using a rubber mallet and a crowbar. I was exhausted at the end, but I got it freed. I think the buyers are getting the other one. Just not worth the effort. I'll leave them some feeders too.
Ten days until we move!
