Good luck. My son sold his house just moments after he listed it. The sign hadn't gone up in the yard yet. I hope it goes as well for you too! We had the photo shoot today. All the hours we put into making the house ready paid off. The photographer was very pleased and it went smoothly. The house will be on the MLS by Wednesday. I've heard several stories in the past few days about sales that go quickly. The realtor who was here today assisting the photographer said her last sale was on the market two days. Hoping it goes well this week. Crossing my fingers and toes for ya, Bob!

The sign just went up on the front lawn and the pictures are ready to be posted by the realtor. They came out great. Really showed off the home nicely. The lighting and angles were perfect. The agent said the house is "live" on the market in the morning and showings start on Friday. Bring it on!

We are up to 19 showings between Friday and Sunday, with offers due Monday morning. Our agent has apparently created a bit of excitement with an attractive price and a tight deadline. Hopefully it pans out.
We came home this afternoon to find an agent in our home, with a couple who were not her clients! She screwed up on the date, and apparently so did they. We were not pleased. Valuables had not been secured and the house was not quite ready for visitors. The agent was all apologies and she got a lecture from our agent.

A quick update. Today was our 2nd day of showings and tomorrow will be an open house and more showings in the afternoon. Yesterday I hung out at the house of some friends and worked from their home. Came home to find that someone had left the cellar door wide open with the cold air pouring into the house. Today came home to find the shed door wide open.
First offer came in a short time ago and our agent told us that she's been fielding questions all day! She expects more offers tomorrow. Final offers are due by 10:00 on Monday morning. Yesterday we locked in the rate on the mortgage. Things are moving quickly.

The big question for today is where do we hang out and kill time? We have to leave the house around 10:15 and our last showing isn't until 5:00. Might head up to Maine for the day. Trying to talk my wife into a trip to to Freeport for a bit of shopping at LLBean.

Fingers crossed Bob that tomorrow will bring an offer you can accept. Thanks! First one we got was definitely one we'd consider. Our agent says there will be multiple offers to choose from. I think one of the big considerations will be the ability to close the sale before we have to move to our new home.

Yes, my granddaughter's house sold the first week, they had to really scramble to get out.. Good luck Bob! We are amazed at how fast this is moving. We know where we're going and it's really only five weeks away from being ready according to the builder. Kind of surreal to be going through this for the first time. As I sit here and look out at the hill and yard that I've spent so much time caring for, I wonder will the next owner treat it the same way? Not that it's important to me, but I do wonder what will the next owners do to our home to make it an even better place to live. I think it will be fascinating to come back here from time to time and check out the house from the street.

The showings are over and we have an offer we're quite pleased with. That said, we have to be prepared for the price to be negotiated down, if the house doesn't appraise high enough or if the home inspection turns up some repairs needed. Hoping to accept the offer tomorrow. The prospective buyer is finalizing a few items in their pre-qualifying application. This is moving fast.
