Does this surprise anyone? Mitch McConnell considering 'kill switch' that allows him to pull plug on Trump impeachment. . According to a report at Fox News, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) is consulting with senior members of his party in an attempt to cobble to together a “kill switch” rule that would allow him to dismiss the articles of impeachment in the Senate against Donald Trump quickly after a minimum of evidence has been presented. For the moment, McConnell is keeping the whatever rules the Senate will have to abide by secret from the Democrats, but lawmakers who appeared on the Sunday cable shows have revealed some details. As Fox News reports, “The discussions came as Texas GOP Sen. Ted Cruz told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” that the trial could extend “to six to eight weeks or even longer” if the Senate decided to hear from additional witnesses.” McConnell is reportedly going to reveal the rules just prior to the beginning of the impeachment, and Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) admitted he expects the “kill switch” rule to be in place from the start. Saying he would be”very, very surprised” if McConnell’s resolution didn’t include that kind of kill switch, Hawley told Axios, “I am familiar with the resolution as it stood a day or two ago. My understanding is that the resolution will give the president’s team the option to either move to judgment or to move to dismiss at a meaningful time.” Hawley added on Twitter, Trump, “… deserves the right during Senate trial to ask for a verdict or move to dismiss – otherwise trial will become endless circus run by Adam Schiff.” www.rawstory.com/2020/01/mitch-mcconnell-considering-kill-switch-that-allows-him-to-pull-plug-on-trump-impeachment-at-any-time-report/

Mitch being the majority leader is just like leaving the wolf to guard the sheep. He must use make-up to hide his brown nose from cameras. No that it matters. We know who's side he's on. Certainly not the Peoples side.

Kentucky is not exactly a hotbed of intelligentsia. Don't be too sure he (McConnell) won't be re-elected.

An oath? Don't you know liars love to take oaths?
This is a waste of time and money. A scam. A joke. An insult to thoughtful and mindful people.
Did anyone on here honestly believe it would be anything else?
Honestly?

Did anyone on here honestly believe it would be anything else? Honestly? No but value lies in the publicity. Telling the world what kind of man he is might pay off in doing even more damage to his name in the business world and maybe result in total personal bankruptcy for him and all his family enterprises. Unless, of course, that publicity backfires and just pushes more of his ignorant minions out to vote.

One thing is completely transparent - the Blatant Corruption that is corroding the US Government from within. It is hard to believe anyone could be as brazen as Mitch McConnell is...makes a person want to puke!

I think it will backfire. His worshippers don't want to hear or see the truth. They will see this as picking on him.
Mitch is very good at deceit. His silly rant about Democrats not liking The-Liar-In-Chief from day one is red meat for dead-eyed Trump worshippers.
This is more like a cheap reality show than a government. At least America is giving the world something to laugh about. Us. ☹
I agree. It makes me sick too.

I want every stinking one of his corrupt acts to be out there for the world to see....that's the only way...the people will know the truth....thank God for the Democrats that are standing up for the truth, they are not laying down for Mitch McConnell to run over them. I'm glad they continue to expose Trump and his thugs.

Same here and after reading the headlines this evening, I think I'm done tuning in for updates on the trial. No more for me till he's actually out of office. This whole thing is a shame by the senate arsewipes. Looking forward to voting and then leaving the country for another extended period of time. I'm just so sad from all the current news of today. Sigh.
