Well, we've got to be able to BEAT trump and sure hope upon hope we have someone to do that. He's losing some supporters but don't know how many.
Hearing that our historically red Orange County in CA is more blue now. Hope that is an indication for the rest of the country. But the south, Hopeless case.

Tulsi Gabbard brought them out at the last debate. Tulsi Gabbard evidently is the darling of the left-left, representing the apparent bias of MSNBC's reporting...I am disappointed with MSNBC, and am now wary of Tulsi Gabbard's sense of ethics and honesty. The video was edited-obviously as it did not show Harris' reply. Resembled one of those political campaign smear ads...will probably be made into one later. In the last second or 2 of the video, did you happen to notice this: Pretty blatent bias slant in support of Tulsi Gabbard, wouldn't you say? Excerpts from Wikipedia's article on Kamala Harris' tenure as California Attorney General: I worked for California Department of Corrections during that timeline, a lot of considerations are involved in administering a state department with a $10 billion budget, affecting the lives of over 130,000 in state custody. Some people/ some issues fall by the wayside when pursuing the "overall good". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamala_Harris#Attorney_General_of_CaliforniaOf course, there will be parts of Harris' record that won't please critics, being a state AG is not always a carefree waltz along the path for freedom for the oppressed.

My kinda fear is the the U.S. Dems won't vote for a woman. That's why Tom looks more appealing now. I like Warren and always have and like Biden but he's getting slow.

I'm not so much worried about the dems not voting for a woman, but I AM concerned that there's a possibility that independents and disaffected Republicans won't. Misogyny runs deep in many areas of the country, especially among older white men.
We need every single vote we can get.

The video was edited-obviously as it did not show Harris' reply. Perhaps I shouldn't have found a You Tube video to use in my post. It was not MSNBC's fault. What Gabbard stated was made on the CNN debate stage. She did an interview with MSNBC and now must be using it to raise campaign funds. But, she brought to light what Harris hoped wouldn't be divulged? Either way, politics can and will get nasty when more and more debates are held.

TG has said a couple of things that rubbed me the wrong way I don't even remember what they were at this time, but they left me with a negative opinion. I, too, would love to see a women elected - especially a minority, but like Joy and Butterfly, I fear the misogyny is still too strong and deeply embedded to permit that. I suspect it will take a couple more generations for that to be possible

I'd like to get excited about a candidate like I did with Obama, but I can't seem to get there...I like Warren and can see her as President. But I hope Steyer can add some good energy to the end group.

I agree with chinadoll1981 and rebecca2013...we don't need more people on the ticket, especially a very wealthy business man who made his money investing in questionable enterprises.
I think Biden would make a good POTUS, especially if he had someone representing a younger generation as his VP (I see Warren or Buttiegig being compatible with Biden) . Biden's heart is in the right place, and his experience, intellect, and wisdom are sound, despite his age.

Politics is a blood sport and we aren't even out of the starting gate. Lol.
It is a little concerning to read there are still women who would not vote for a woman. Sad too. Frustrating!
We have a maniacal goon in the WH. We trampled and turned our backs on a brilliant, politican who was known world wide. 100 times more qualified than this sexist racist. Now I can't help wondering if it's only because she pees sitting down!
Look around. There are many countries mature enough and wise enough to believe women are just as qualified, some over qualified, to be a leader even if they don't stand up while relieving themselves!
If I said I wouldn't vote for a man because he's a man would that make any sense?
People told MLK Jr the time was not right. He should hold off. Wait. The country wasn't ready yet.
IF NOT NOW WHEN? IF NOT US WHO?

If I'd been American, I would have voted for Clinton in 2016. I consider gender irrelevant when deciding who I would vote for...my decision is based on who I think is best for the job. Of course, there are many backward-thinking people who feel otherwise, as you said birdgal.

Well I believe women are as qualified as men to be president but, the MOST important thing facing this country today is getting Trump's big fat a** out of the White House and so far the leader in that department is Joe Biden according to every poll out there.
I like him for his experience and he is also wise....I agree with formerlyme.

I like Biden too, but I fear he's really slowing down. Being Pres doesn't make one younger.
At least Steyer is 62, that is YOUNG, and read up on him don't make a quick judgement on t this man.
We still have a long way to go to Nov. 2020.

My kinda fear is the the U.S. Dems won't vote for a woman. That's why Tom looks more appealing now. I like Warren and always have and like Biden but he's getting slow. I completely disagree. Democrats aren't afraid of electing a woman president and I believe most swing voters aren't either. I think most all people from the far left up to the line that makes a person "Right" would gladly vote for a woman - even prefer a woman. We've had way too much testosterone governing us on all levels. Men, far more than women, see "fighting" as a physical confrontation whether it stems from an argument in a bar or a disagreement on how much a country is enriching uranium. Men are too quick to "pull the trigger" and the traitor in chief is a prime example of it. Of course, not all men are like him, but men in general are more like him than women. I've said it before, I will vote for the Democratic nominee whoever it is, but I believe the nominee must be smart, well educated, up on the issues, creates plans for the benefit of the people and most importantly, be able to sell those plans based on well researched facts. That person must also be well versed on all the crap the traitor has pulled throughout his campaign and his time in office and have a clear understanding of how to use that information against him. I believe THAT'S what will beat the traitor in chief both on the debate stage and in the general election. Elizabeth Warren has my vote in the primary at this point and I doubt another candidate will be able to pull me away from supporting her, but my mind remains open. I look forward to future debates. I don't like or dislike Steyer. The fact that he's a billionaire gives me pause, but I wouldn't mind seeing him on the debate stage. I believe his influence on vital issues is important to help determine the direction of the party.

The fact that someone as superbly qualified for the job as Hilary Clinton could not beat a Donald Trump is proof that misogyny runs deep and wide in this country. Therefore, I think our first female POTUS will have to inherit the job rather than be voted into it.
I will vote for whomever the Democratic Party decides should be the nominee. I have no overwhelming favorite yet

I have no overwhelming favorite yet Hillary may have been superbly qualified but she was not especially popular. Many people, including myself lost respect for her when she did nothing (at least in the public eye) about Bill's infidelity. She didn't come across as especially likable, and the traitor in chief along with the Russians created enough doubt about her emails and Benghazi to hurt her standing where her integrity was concerned. She was a flawed candidate from the beginning and she didn't make a very good showing when she debated the traitor. My perception is that Warren would do much better and so far, Warren seems to be squeaky clean.
