It's old news today but who remembers the 2000 election where Gore lost the state of Florida and therefore lost the nation? The whole direction of the country changed with the George W. Bush administration. That Florida contest will go down in history as one of the most crooked in recent history.
The recent book, "A Florida State of Mind" by James D. Wright gives a succinct history lesson about how that travesty came about beginning with the 'cleansing' of voter roles during the months leading up to the election to the squirrelly antics of the Governor (brother Jeb) and Florida Secretary of State, Katherine Harris. It was a GOP engineered election from the beginning but America - being the forgiving nation that it is - just said "Oh well, it's just the way it is" and forgot about it. The only obvious repercussion was that Jeb lost his turn to continue the Bush dynasty.
Florida elections are still GOP dominated.

Tntnomas, you don't sound cynical to me. You sound realistic.
People constantly tell me I'm too negative. A sad and pathetic face usually goes along with their concern.
I ask them to try to use a flash light or jump a battery with only a positive charge. 🤔

i'm not strictly conservative but some conservatives in the past have been civil.trump has changed that.i have little faith in political polling these days.i'm not sure who to blame.,the pollers or the pollees.i hope 2016 was an aberration. I really like Jon Huntsman, our current ambassador to Russia. Can you imagine that job today? He's a really smart man, speaks Mandarin Chinese, and was governor of Utah. I think he's avoiding any run for Republican President so as not to become tainted by Trump's slurs in a campaign.
