I hope our party is mature and responsible enough to throw unavoidable momentum behind the probable candidate before we cannibalize all the top choices. Four years of suffering under the moron's party tell me this will be so.

Right now Bernie Sanders is at the bottom of my Democratic vote list.
He needs to call off his attack dogs. This is how he rolls.... it's the same thing he did to Clinton... I wonder if it's him.... or just the type of people who tend to support him.. They are as cultish as the far right is for Trump.. I have actually lost a friend due to making a statement that I would not vote for Bernie... even though I'm a staunch Democrat.. that simply wasn't enough.. I had to worship Bernie or I was not worth even being his friend... We don't need that sort of fanaticism...

I had to worship Bernie or I was not worth even being his friend... We don't need that sort of fanaticism... I'm a little tired of Bernie and I think he's too old and too curmudgeonly, but his message is the message we, as Liberals should hold dear. Healthcare for all, free education, adequate school funding, repair infrastructure, take money out of politics, etc., are the issues we should all support. Bernie isn't the only one with this messaging, but he was the first to bring this messaging to the forefront in a presidential election. Warren, Harris, Buttigieg, Swalwell, and others are basically talking the same talk and walking the same walk. Take your pick. All of them should be pinging our radar. Biden will be a heavily sponsored "moderate." He might be a Liberal were he not heavily sponsored. Years ago, we used to hear, "there's virtually no difference between Republicans and Democrats." Biden was part of the reason for for that comparison. By being moderate, he represents the status quo we witnessed prior to Obama that led us to where we are today. In my opinion, we need bold new leadership. Because of that, Biden's off my list. That said, should he get the nomination, he'll have my full support against Trump.

I'm not convinced Biden will do well against true progressives in the Democratic debates let alone against Trump. In my opinion, it's way to early to say Biden can beat Trump. He has yet to be tested since he just entered the race. Let's see how he holds up against Liberal opponents first.

The 2016 election showed polling that indicated Clinton would easily beat Trump... and look what happened. I'm not so sure we need to put much stock into polls.. The only thing that matters is that every registered Democrat gets out there and votes BLUE... straight ticket.. Beating Trump is important, but right up there in urgency is flipping the Senate and getting rid of McConnel... who has already pledged to obstruct EVERYTHING if there is a Democrat in the White House.

Some get fired up for supporting Progressive candidates but I don't see the majority of voters as being ready for that yet.
...maybe after a couple more "Katrina" style catastrophes and Wall St rip offs people will wake up to political realities

I remember watching this hearing on TV. I had forgotten Biden was chair of that committee. Viewing the video of Clarence Thomas brought back all the memories of it and how much I disliked Thomas. My heart went out to Anita Hill because I knew from experience how inappropriately some men acted in an office setting. I will never vote for Biden now unless he is the candidate chosen by the Democratic party to run against 45. As they say, "the lesser of 2 evils."

If a young Democrat would catch fire with the heart land of America. I could see Biden step a side.
I do not see that happening now. Trump 44, Buttigieg 40 Trump +4

This will be the first presidential election where I will be voting against somebody. trump has set the bar so low, nobody could be worse. I find it hard to believe there won't be sufficient numbers of voters that feel the same who would just him.

...maybe after a couple more "Katrina" style catastrophes and Wall St rip offs people will wake up to political realities ....Political realities. I am still in shock over Trump's victory. Forget Russian interference and the disgusting betrayal of American values by the Nazi's payed off at Fox News. It's my neighbors and even extended family members who have delivered a blow to my guts. These are people who not only voted for Trump...they still support him. These church going hypocrites and so called "Friends" are the source of more pain to me than Trump himself. I guess what floors me the most is that I never knew the depths of their perversion and I consider myself a fairly perceptive man.....no more. There's only one thing that can account for this...xenophobic racism. It's hidden and possibly repressed but apparently dominant in their emotional makeup. Our emotions are subconsciously driven but we recognize them as ours...and real. I hate the creature in the White House that has caused me to internalize this...political reality. I don't think I can continue conveniently ignoring this new perception when I encounter nephews and people I've laughed and joked with in the past....this new fake behavior has to go. It's going to hurt but I won't respect myself if it continues. I guess I just had to talk about this new attitude to make it more real and doable. I like this family and circle of friends....I can't say that regarding the previously real ones. It's a pretty sad state of affairs.
