The US "Intelligence" community, along with our corrupt corporate media represent exactly what Orwell warned us about in the book 1984. The only difference is that with the advancement of technology the situation is much more dangerous.
That is a bit simplified.... Maybe George Bush & Co. did a lot to your dislike but the IC are not some evil influence out there to destroy democracy as you imply..... we simply collect, analyze, evaluate, and disseminate foreign intelligence.... that is essential for security.... as for the covert actions.... well... that I can't speak to as all of which are classified operations which are approved by each agency's charters... It is done in the interests of national security not at the whim of the agency involved regardless of your perception or opinion. You can't choose what you wish to inform the public as I believe you would like, as some operations, even years ago... continue to be classified. I'm not talking about withholding information for security purposes. I am talking about the fabrication of lies and propaganda for the purpose of gaining public support for permanent ongoing wars of imperialist aggression in order to provide an excuse to feed the military industrial complex from the public trough and distract the public from the screwing they are getting on domestic policy.
There were no weapons of mass destruction.
There was no Russian hacking.
It's all bullsh*t.

You know.... for a Bernie Supporter you sound a heck of a lot like a Trumper!!..... Yeah there WAS Russian hacking.... that has been proven.... as far as WMD's in Iraq well.... that was a fudge on the part of a larger political nod to George... was it right?? no it wasn't but it was based on faulty and hasty HUMINT and faulty radio chatter along with other information which proved to be just a ruse by Iraq or wishful thinking from the players in question but it was blown into something to support the military actions as you stated before and you were correct..... however some of it was legit i.e. the chemical weapons found....
so not all intelligence is to perpetuate wars of aggression.... there is a lot that I actually do which doesn't have ANYTHING to do with supporting violence of any sort.... sometimes it is just a matter of supplying disinformation to our foes.... if that means lying and supplying lies to our Russian "friends" then so be it.... guilty as charged!!

Save it kid. I don't believe a word of what you are saying. In fact I don't even believe you're some big shot in the intelligence community. That's just a front you put on for the internet. I figure you're probably just a barista down in the snack bar.

as far as WMD's in Iraq well.... that was a fudge on the part of a larger political nod to George... was it right?? I could research it, but it is mid afternoon, and I had a big sushi feast so... If I recall correctly, it was the Bush administration who had as their agenda to invade Iraq, and were looking for an excuse to do so. The WMD idea wasn't confirmed, just a suspicion. But that was good enough for Bush, who would probably have conducted his invasion on other pretexts, if necessary. Bush had pretext Colin Powell sell the package to the UN. Powell was uneasy about the whole stinking affair, but being a good career military man, he followed orders.
As they say, "the rest is history".
1.2 million total war deaths
$2.4 trillion cost to U.S. taxpayers(including Afghanistan)
$39 billion in profits for Cheney's Halliburton on Iraq War

I did not blame the alphabet soup of agencies, it how the president uses or misuses the info.
Any person (president) with half a brain would have not believed the Iraq"weapons of mas-destruction" story.
I cringed when Bush pushed Colin Powell to give his speech to the United Nations.

Any person (president) with half a brain would have not believed the Iraq"weapons of mas-destruction" story Apparently there were 297 half-a-brains in the House and 77 half-a-brains in the Senate that believed the WMD story enough to authorize use of Military Force Against Iraq.

¡Ay, caramba! a barista??? Coffee?? dang!! I thought at least I be a full bartender.... No. But the vending machine took my dollar and didn't give me my Cheetos. I was wondering if you could give me a refund? That was one of the things the snack bar lady where I used to work was in charge of.

TobyTyler your argument does not hold water so you attack the other posters.
Bush got the Info, he wanted and worked at painting people who were against the war as weak and unpatriotic.
It is not easy to stop a president that wants a war.
