You see what you want to see. No Toby, I see the situation with unequivocal clarity. You see fleeting glimpses where I see the grim actuality of it up close and personal. I see both sides of the spectrum.....those that truly need and deserve assistance and those that are along for nothing but a free ride on my dime. The numbers and stats you spout don't mean diddly here in the 'Burgh and surrounding areas. What you are is a pathetic bully that gets off on kicking people that are less fortunate than you and can't fight back. You are a prime example of what's wrong with America today.

Much of today's poverty is the result of people having children that they cannot afford to raise. That's more than a bit simplistic. The problem is a lot more complicated than that. For one thing, not all poor people even have children at all - especially the elderly - and not all families have more than one or two children. Then there is the politics of health care (including the availability of contraceptives, knowledge of and use of them) and jobs and society (including the availability of truthful and accurate sex education) in general, to mention a few.

Not simplistic at all and you're correct in that a lot of factors enter into the poverty situation. However, when nearly one half of all births in this country are funded with public assistance, it indicates a major problem in the child-bearing segment of the population. Increasing the size of the one's family is not the path out of poverty. But unfortunately, making babies is more fun than caring for them and if someone else takes on some of that responsibility, what's the harm, right? publichealth.gwu.edu/content/medicaid-pays-nearly-half-all-births-united-states

...hatred is a strong word, and some compassion is in order for the many honest people who have a legitimate need for assistance. It is so easy to be judgmental from the sidelines. ... My dear young lady, would you rather me use another adjective such as 'abhor' or 'detest'? They all mean the same when applied within the context of my post.
Yes, I agree that it is easy to be judgmental from the comfort and safety of the 'sidelines', but I am on the 'front lines' and see a great deal more than what the average person sees. Yes, I do have compassion for those that truly need assistance and try to help those that need their burdens lightened in legitimate ways. But to those that are obviously scamming the system, yes, I harbor malice. Welfare should be temporary, not a 'way of life'.
No. I see him as a refreshing change from the same old same old. He has the 'hootzpah' and 'kahoonies' to tell it like it is and is not afraid of backlash.
...I've never heard you post a single critical word about him. Is this not a 'double standard'? ... No, my friend, and you won't either unless he screws up royally. In case some haven't noticed, he has come a long way in the past year.
...It's not fair or logical to paint everyone (or most everyone) in a particular category with the same brush! ... I paint only those that need painting.

It is strange how people become so passionate about the poor getting more than do them.
I think it comes about because we have to get up and go to work each day and it's not always easy.
It takes a lot of drive, to work, when we would like to be doing other things.
We just do not get as passionate about the Rich that glide through life and get much more then they should.

Much of today's poverty is the result of people having children that they cannot afford to raise. perhaps.. and yet Republicans consistently fight to end abortion rights and to defund Planned parenthood which provides low cost reproductive services and birth control to poor women.. Don't you see this as counter productive? No abortion.. and no birth control.. and absolutely NO help feeding and housing the resulting children. Oh wait... they aren't supposed to be having sex either because God forbid, that is more fun than the poor deserve.. Right helen? I forgot, when you are poor, you shouldn't enjoy anything.. like sweets, or alcohol, or fast food, because they don't deserve it.. they are the poor after all... They should be miserable. lol!!

Good grief @thesource. Unless you consider the destruction of our country and it's rule of law a great thing.. Trump is hardly a "refreshing change".. The sooner he's gone the better. Once Dems get the House back that process can begin..

Source, I would be interested to know what you think of the information that has been uncovered thus far with all the investigations involving Trump, Russia and all the women coming forward with accusations of having sex with Trump while he was married.
Also are you going to believed the outcome of Mr. Mueller's investigation?

It's just too easy to slant a study towards your biases. I'd like to know a whole lot more about the source before I accept their verdict. I don't have a lot of faith in "studies' and polls anymore

Do you ever really listen to what he says and tweets or watch him? There is nothing "refreshing" about him.
