I spent a good part of today between my bed and bathroom, still not 100% since a bout with (apparent) food poisoning. Three days ago it was vomiting, profuse sweating, lightheadedness, weakness, etc. Today it is punishing my bowels. I remain lethargic but am eating, carefully, nothing spicy or with a lot of fibre.
I believe I contracted salmonella from some pre-packaged coleslaw from Belleisle Farms in New Brunswick. The timing fits, and the symptoms fit. I did some research and found that Canada issued a recall September 2018 for this exact same product from the same farm because of Listeria contamination. Seems someone isn't handling things cleanly enough. I reported my experience on-line, and the right Canadian authorities are looking into it and have asked me to save the remainder of the package contents for testing.
Food poisoning usually runs it's course in 5-7 days, so I should be back to normal soon. Two tables spoons of vinegar with or followed by water, and it'll knock that right out. At least it works for me anytime I get the symtoms you described and I've had then more times than I care to remember. I have a very large spoon equivalent to two+ tablespoons, I fill it try to poor the vinegar as far back of without getting much on my tongue and down a nice amount of water after. For me, it usually doesn't take long for ailments to ease up and go away. Some gineral and bland crackers will usually be the first thing I eat after. I so hope you are feeling so much better ASAP. I really can't stand those tummy disturbances.

Thank you kindly, chinadoll1981. This is nothing compared to what you have been through, and I'll be fine soon. I'm glad, too, that you are getting out and about again, and also that rebecca2013 is over the worst of her stomach bug.

First thing a stop at the library then a run to Publix. Pulix stores are the only supermarket I've found that sells diet ginger ale sweetened with sucralose which is the only non sugar I can tolerate. Too bad they didn't have corned beef, I'll have to go back out to the store tomorrow for that.

Quiet day - bike ride at dawn then stayed in until about 3:30 when we drove to the capitol. Did shopping for stepdaughter, sister, friend - 2 pairs each of 'harem pants' and a tshirt for son in law. (just have grandkids to buy for). Then went to dinner at a seaside restaurant and watched the sunset. Husband volunteered to drive back since I hate driving in the dark. So I had beer and he didn't.

Unending errands, I can't wait till Friday, I feel like I'm coming off a week of a full-time job. Now thinking retirement isn't so bad. I'm exhausted.
