I'm finally back to working out in my home 'gym' after being lazy and indulgent and over-celebrating the election results.

What did I do today... and yesterday? Not a thing!!! Heavy frost yesterday morning. We had 17 degrees when I woke up. Went out to the course to check on water system. Everything okay. Didn't wait around for frost to clear. Had some phone calls to make. Finished library book. Just took the day off.
Last tourney of the year at the course today. So... no golf for me. Dog was restless, came out from under the covers, and jumped down on the floor. What's she doing? I glanced over at the bedside clock. 6:30!!!! I've not slept that late in ages!!!! Got up. Let the dog out. By the time I had fed the dog, showered and shaved, it was after 7:00. Sheesh! Day half gone! :>) Started another library book. 10ish, went to the library to pick up a book they had on hold for me. From there to Walgreen's to pick up vitamins for wife. Back home for the rest of the day.
A mind is a terrible thing to lose. I use the library receipt as a book mark. Started a library book early this morning. Got well into it. Marked my page with the library receipt. Early afternoon, thought I would read some more. Opened the library book to where the receipt was sticking out. Didn't seem like the same story, but thought it was just a change of characters towards building the plot. Read a couple chapters and wondered where this was going and when it would return to the original story. All of a sudden I realized I had picked up the book I brought home from the library this morning. Had stuck the receipt in the middle of the book. Had begun reading the wrong book... and beginning halfway through. What a dunce!!!

Today I did some laundry, changed the sheets and did a cardio and muscle workout. Then worked on my jigsaw puzzle. Of course watched US news to see the continuing saga of the orange shithead who is a very sore loser.

The garage door is finally painted with the help of my daughter, today I'll do the cleanup, any future painting to be done, I'll call a professional.
I've also been working on the leaves, it is so dry here with the leaf roundup producing ungodly amounts of dirt and dust, I've decided to let them lie until the next rain, 60% chance this weekend.

Been a week for high blood pressure. Annual membership meeting at the golf course tonight. My three year term on the Board of Directors expires this year. I could run for one more three year term. But... should I??? I've enjoyed this past three years. It has taken quite a bit of time and work. Retired... It's been fun and rewarding. So... with the wife's permission, I tossed my name in the hat for another term. Election tonight and I was reelected. This past few months, I had been tasked with developing a conceptual design and budget numbers for a new maintenance operations facility. Our old maintenance shop is severely deteriorated... unsafe... in the flood plain... needing replacement for years. Working with staff and my committee, we developed a plan. I sent that plan to a number of local contractors to obtain budget numbers. Put together a presentation for the meeting tonight to see if we could proceed with the project. Received a unanimous vote to move forward. Bank has me listed as Project Manager. This is a $400,000 facility. I'm retired!!!!! I play golf seven days/week!!! I don't have time to oversee this project!!! But... it sounds like I will. If I escape COVID, 2021 could be a very busy and interesting year. This has been building and the last couple nights didn't sleep well. Now, feel totally washed out. Maybe jumping into this project will take my mind away from the political issues that have seemed to take over our lives.

Supposed to be the last nice day for a while. Played my normal 18 holes of golf this morning. Long frost delay so didn't get home until about 1:30. Had promised the wife I'd put up our few outside Christmas lights. Have a very large star and two strings of lights. The star goes above our garage doors. A string of lights goes each way, across the top of the doors. I am so stupid, sometimes! Got it all up, plugged it in and the star's lights didn't work. Both strings worked so it had to be a bulb somewhere in the star. 50 bulb light string in the star. Why the heck didn't I check it out before climbing up on a ladder and getting them all affixed to the house???!!! Began going around the star bulb by bulb. After 10 or so, thought "This will take an eternity and I'll probably fall off the ladder. Remembered we had a couple extras light strings that came with the star. Found them. Took the star back down, replaced the entire string, checked to make sure it worked, and reinstalled it above the garage doors. Now, wife is happy!!! Legs are shot from going up and down the ladder quite a few times. That kind of ache is the good kind. Means that, maybe, I accomplished something.

Still playing golf every day, even into mid-December. Weather has been totally awesome this year. (One of the very few good things about 2020!) On the roof, this afternoon, to clean out gutters. Don't know why I procrastinate about doing this every year. Only takes about 20 minutes with the leaf blower. Takes longer than that to dig out the ladder and get it set up. 70 degrees in December is perfect weather for walking arund on a roof.
