Enjoyed the sunshine. Husband went out kayaking in front of the house, and I took some photos of him when he came back.
Wanted to go for a walk but for some reason my shoulders were sore. So I got on exercise bike and read some more of Rage.

Golf this morning. Lawn doctors were by while I was at the course. The fertilizer they applied needed watered in. So... let sprinklers soak all they would reach and hand-watered the rest. Trying to watch the U.S. Open between my eyelids closing and my snoring in the recliner.

Going to friends to sit in their garden with some wine/beer. Perfect weather. I'm going to walk as I won't get on my bike until I am totally pain free (will be soon). Hubby will ride bike with paniers to carry the bottles.

No golf today so slept in. Didn't get out of bed until after 6:00 a.m. Think that's a record for at least the last year or two!!!1 Wanted to mow early but too much dew. Grass finally was dry enough to mow and bag by about 10:30. Mowed... Lunch.... Watched the U.S. Open and the Chiefs football. Just a kickback day.
Daughter from the KC area came to visit yesterday. Her husband was involved in a fishing tournament and the boys were both working so she drove up to visit. One of the granddaughters here in town turned 18 today. The daughter here in town and both granddaughters spent most of the day here. Just good to have both daughters and a couple granddaughters laughing and enjoying each other's company during stressful times. The son-in-law that was fishing is an avid Trump fan. I believe he's the only one in the immediate family. I've had to block him on FB a couple times. But... he's never been known for a high intellect!!!

It was sunny and mild today so hubby and I went for a drive (56 miles roundtrip) to our favourite brewery. Bought some to bring home and sat outdoors to drink a pint each.

I've been mowing off and on for 2 days....its beginning to get really dry here, so I have the sprinklers going now, the moles are doing a number in the yard, makes for rough mowing, next week I'm going to the city to pick up a pull behind new sprayer that I've ordered, the old one has to be primed and has a bad leak its about 18 years old so its time to retire it.....that's about all that's going on in my busy life.

Regular 18 holes of golf this morning. Home in time to begin mowing. Wanted to bag everything due to leaves beginning to fall. Finished mowing and bagging about 12:15. Taking the remainder of the day off! The 'boss' is asleep in her recliner across the room so, hopefully, I don't have to ask permission! :>)

Yep! Mowed. Showered. In sweats for the rest of the day. Just getting relaxed when one of the wife's widow friends called. She couldn't get her tv to shut off. Sounded like the remote batteries. She said she couldn't find where to put the batteries in the remote. So... with clean clothes on... wife and I headed over to assist. It was the batteries. I popped the cover off, replaced the batteries, and she has her tv working again.
When we arrived, I told her there was a recall on her model of television. She said, "There was?" Told her that some of that model were mistakenly manufactured as females and they wouldn't stop talking!! She's blonde, like my wife, but only took her a few seconds to get it. She sends homemade cookies home with my wife so I hope I didn't ruin one of my "sweets supply lines". :>)

I dyed my sister-in-law's hair... from dark brown to blonde & then blonde to a deep vampire red.

Sat: got on my exercise bike while continuing to read Rage, did some lower body muscle work. Not quite healed from my bike crash Aug 3rd.
Ordered groceries online to pick on Tuesday. Watched the continuing saga of the worst administration in history.

Got up early and did 2 loads of laundry. I may make a Blueberry Grunt this afternoon. What is a grunt? It's a bit like a cobbler, but you cook it on top of the stove. You bring blueberries, fresh or frozen, & a few other ingredients, to a boil, lower heat to simmer for several minutes, then drop spoonsful of dough onto it. You close the cover tightly and let simmer about 15 minutes. It's a traditional Atlantic Canada dish, named for the supposed noises it makes while cooking.
Here's a recipe, although there are slight variations of it on youtube. For example, I don't add lemon zest, and I use butter instead of shortening. I make a slightly dryer dumpling, and use a ready-made topping rather than the one shown here.

My spin bike was delivered yesterday (didn't expect it until Sat or Monday. Husband assembled it and I did a workout. I advertised my regular exercise bike on a local FB site that it was free for pickup and got 3 replies in about 2 minutes. It was picked up this morning.
Friends dropped by and we sat on the patio (in heavy coats) and shared some wine and beer. Nice chat.
