Went to the gym 3 times this week. Except for the leg press it was all cardio because I am avoiding using my shoulder. Tomorrow I'll do my floor exercises - abs, legs, butt, core.
Was 149.2 yesterday morning.

I haven't posted recently in my own thread, as I got no "Losin'" to report. I do 50 minutes a day(7days/wk), plus a couple aerobic classes a week at the gym. haven't done my weight routine lately, but I've been more active physically, doing "real things" like physical labor...yard work, house repairs. I struggle to keep the 'pie' out of the 'pie-hole'...with really limited success. Nothing extreme, I'll eat a homemade chocolate chip cookie. or maybe a "generous" portion of[insert food type] here and there. ...with the realization that extra time on the elliptical doesn't necessarily cancel-out the extra caloric intake...I feel like I'm fatter.

WW weigh in last night.. 149.41 down under 150 for the first time since 2006! I can stop paying WW just 1.4 pounds from now.. BUT will shoot for 140 to allow some cushion. If I can get there I plan to use my maintenance skills to stay there. hopefully.
I went to the doctor last week and thought he would tell me that my weight was fine for an almost 70 year old.. given that I'm healthy and active.. BUT... nope.. he says I should be 130!! UP HIS!!!

Take heart.. It's not about how fast things go.. believe me.. I just went back and checked my WW records. In the last 15 months I have lost a total of only 12 pounds! But I could have easily gained 20 or more... Keep working at it.. Obesity is a killer..

I keep a weight log on a spreadsheet, as well as my food log. It's nice to go back and see progress. Not so nice when it goes in the wrong direction.
We are back from our stay at stepdaughter's where I was really, really indulgent. Getting on the scale every day now.
June 30th last year: 164 Lowest weight in Thailand during the winter: Dec 8th - 138.1 (different scale but I felt like it was accurate) March 6th - a few days after we got home: 152.6 This morning: 147.2 Ideal goal: 135 by June 16th when sister comes to visit and we do tourist stuff. Ideally maintain at comfortably under 140.
Counting calories - around 1000-1100 a day, but increase during social occasions, like tomorrow when we go to friends' for dinner. Won't pig out but there will be wine.

I've come to the conclusion that I must have to stay under 1000 calories a day for me to lose weight. Don't understand it.. Must be my metabolism.. but that is very hard to do..

It's very hard to do. Usually I've done 1200. But 1000 day long term will mean you are stuck there as your body will get used to it. I figure once a week do high cal.

Perception: I seem to keep gaining just tiny amounts, so I'm thinking that I'm close to the upper limit/slightly exceeding my daily caloric use buy maybe a 100 calories. Using this calculator I'd have to limit calories to 2066/day to lose 1 lb per week. Fact check:I checked my past medical appointment statistics, going a year back. The trend is the reverse of what I expected: Jan 2018 226 lb Feb 2017 231 lb I must have some kind of body schema differentiation going on. ??? I still feel like I've gained. Maybe I'm gaining fat, and losing muscle.

I lost 16 lbs on the "Accident Diet" I do not recommend it to anyone however.... That's a terrible way to lose weight, I hope you're healing up fast from all that, Rebecca. Well I'm going to get back on the program and kick up my workout a notch, and kick up my portion control & sugar avoidance several notches. When I lost 50 lb.s in 2013 I was just doing cardio and aerobic workout, and completely OCD with the salt-sugar-fat avoidance. That was real successful weight loss but if I just lose a couple pounds a month, I'll be in a better place with my BMI in a year.

I've about decided that 215 lbs. is where I'm going to stay. Bottom line, I do not like being hungry. It sucks. Sure, I have a bit of a gut and some love handles, but when I get depressed about it all I have to do is go down to the nearest Walmart and walk amongst all the 300 pounders that shop there and I feel lean and healthy again.

I'd be O.K. at 215, I'd still be able to wear all the clothes I bought after my big weight loss. When I dropped down to 198 lb.s, people told me I looked "too skinny". They should have seen me when I got back from Vietnam-fighting malaria and a kidney infection dropped me to 147 lb.s.; was 185 when I went to VN.

Dinner last night at friends' house. It was not a high calorie meal but as usual as their house I drank lots of wine.
Just over 1,000 calories today and plan the same for the rest of the week.
