Best of luck weathering it! Stay safe!!!! Split that storm a little and send some of the rain our way!! Have another internet friend who lives is St. John. She posted a map a few days ago when her area was to be dead center of Lee. "Interesting" times. Thanks, 2old . My power went off shortly after my post (cut out just before 6 a.m.) & came back on around 7:50 p.m. My landline phone service was out for that same period, as well. We've had periods of intense rainfall. Powerful winds are persisting, probably will through the night, but we're past the worst of it in my immediate area. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/post-tropical-storm-lee-makes-landfall-in-atlantic-canada-1.6968112?cmp=DM_Display_PopularNow_CBCNews_TWN The lady who lives in St. John has been posting a few pictures. Much of that community out of power. Her apartment building never lost power. Lots of trees uprooted. But, sounds like no loss of life.

We simply cannot get any rain! Monday, as the rain came our way, it split. Folks 1 to 2 miles east of town got 1 1/2" or rain. Folks 10 miles west got 2". We got zip! Zero!
Supposed to rain all day yesterday. Not even a cloud in the sky. Now, a chance on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Talking about some possible tornadic activity on Saturday. It's too far out for these meteorologists to be accurate at all.
Mornings have been awesome! 50's and low 60's. Yesterday we hit 90 and today we've seen 87. At least the spray foam insulators should complete their work at the new maintenance facility tomorrow. Dirt contractor might get geo-mat and aggregate down before the weekend. And, I was the big winner at golf this morning!!! Won an whole $1.25!!! :>)

Light rain since noon today. Temperature is 58ºF. Rain expected Sunday and Monday too. Must be from the storm coming up from the east coast. Fall is here and I don't see it warming back up.

Record heat through most of the Summer. Through September still had a number of days that set records. Woke up this morning to low 40's and north wind. Headed to the course. Cold!!! Still played and still shivering. It's not quite 11:00 a.m. 44 out with 37 mph winds from the north. Golf is a tough job, but someone has to do it!! :>)
Hard freeze warning for tomorrow morning. Predicting low 30's. No Fall. Gonna go right from Summer to Winter! Ugh.....

Came within 3 degrees of the record high for today set in 1936. Got to 89 degrees F. This is almost November 1st!! Upper 80's???
Supposed to cool down by this coming weekend. They are promising some rain next week. They've promised rain before and it goes around us.
Many years when our kids were young, it was too cold and/or snowy to go trick or treating. Sure different now.

We're having our first snowfall this season, a fairly major one. Trees & most everything else are heavily coated.

The temperature has gone above freezing, the sun is shining, and most of last night's snow is melting.

Today's high was 57° with a low of 32° tonight. Starting Saturday we'll be back in the 70's for 6 days. NC weather bounces around so much. It was in the 80's just a few days ago.

NC must be a little like Kansas. Here, we have all four seasons...sometimes in 24 hours!! :>) Son and daughter-in-law ended up buying a home in Fayetteville. He'll retire for the Army in about 18 months. She is a NC native so has family just south of there. Born and raised in a little town of Teachy. Planning on flying down to see them in the spring.

There's a saying here, " If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute!" LOL One day a couple of years ago it started off warm & thunderstorming in the morning..by late afternoon it was cold & snowing.

5" snow, yesterday and last evening. I have an electric snowblower. Not a horse, but has done what we've needed when we do get a skiff of snow. Haven't even plugged it in the past 2 winters. Well, it got plugged in this morning!
Got my drive done, back deck swept off, and our front steps cleaned off. Then, added cords and plowed through the north yard to our neighbor's drive. He's 92 and widowed. Has no business trying to use a snow shovel or fire up his old gas snowblower. Got his drive and front steps cleaned off. Never know when a gentleman that old might have an emergency and someone need to get in to his home and out safely.
Some of this will melt off today. High supposed to be 38. The next 3 nights in the lower teens. 50 by next weekend! Never know what Mother Nature has in store for us here in the Midwest.....
