It seems you receive the type of weather a day after we do. We had the same thing. Power kept flickering off and on but we didn't loose power in my area. Others did, with trees toppled on power lines and blowing transformers. One area even had a tornado. Woke up to 54ºF this morning and sunshine. Suppose to reach 80ºF by this afternoon. Glad it's over in your area, that you and yours are safe and sound. I lay awake in the middle of last night listening to more thunder, and there is potentially more of that expected today. Gawd, this is turning out to be one vicious summer: www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/historic-flooding-rain-torrential-downpours-1.6914975

Gawd, this is turning out to be one vicious summer: www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/historic-flooding-rain-torrential-downpours-1.6914975East coast and on up into Canada has been drenched! Storms. Floods. Tornados. That's the weather we used to see out here in the Midwest! Now, we can't get rain. Drought conditions. River by the golf course is the lowest anyone has seen it. (Did see some canoes floating past this morning. They would have had to navigate between sandbars.) We irrigate with 4 wells that pump into a presedimentation basin. Large pumps pull water from that basin and push it out into the course irrigation system. We're allocated a certain number of acre/feet of water each year. Our superintendent knew we were pumping way more than allowed this year. He met with the KS Department of Ag last week. They doubled our allocation for '23, '24, '25. So, it sounds like they don't see the drought lessening in the near future. Yet, you folks are swimming in your front yards and streets!!! Growing up and through most of my adult life, we were part of what was known as "tornado alley". Can't remember how many funnel clouds I've seen dropping out of the sky. Heck! I don't think we've even heard thunder this year!!! Is this just some cycling of weather patterns? Are we old enough to be seeing significant climate change? Current political issues in the U.S. Global financial issues that could end up affecting all of us. Weather/climate changes we can't control and don't know if and when it will settle down. And we're just supposed to sit back, relax, and enjoy our senior years. Yeah! Right!!!!

It's interesting to see and read! Sad, there was so much flooding by you.

What a crazy stretch of extreme weather: drought-like conditions from late May through June with intense fires all over Nova Scotia, and now we're deluged with excessive rain and thunderstorms. I've never seen a summer anything like this one, and I've lived here my whole 79 years!
Mother Nature run amuck!!! This whole planet needs TLC & respect, or I fear for future generations of humans and other animals.

104 degrees. Feels like 110!! I ran to the store a little earlier this afternoon and it felt like I was stepping out into an oven.
Still playing golf every morning. Drinking lots of water and home by 10:00 or before. Evening news says we could see another 12 days in the triple digits.

Boy, I feel for you 2old ! That's hot! Reached 84ºF this afternoon and a dewpoint of 64. It was a sticky afternoon here. They say the next 3 days it's suppose to reach the 90's with tropical dewpoints in the 70's. Glad hubby mowed grass this morning. A t-storm hit around 10:30 pm tonight with heavy rain. Temperature holding at 72ºF. Thank goodness for central air.

When I got home from playing golf, it was only 93 with a feels like of 99. Fired up the mower and got the lawn mowed and trimmed. They're still predicting triple digits this after noon, but I'm not convinced it will get there.

I need some of your weather right now. I don't like it once it gets too hot to do anything outdoors. Yesterday morning, we woke up to 48ºF! Only reach the mid 70's in the afternoon and quite breezy. My type of weather! I don't like it either when it gets very hot and the dewpoint becomes tropical, in the 70 range. One just can't move in that weather, so nothing gets done outdoors. Today...morning 50ºF. Afternoon, 82ºF and a dewpoint of 64. Next frw day are suppose to be warmer.
