There's a big difference between being religious and being spiritual.
I grew up being Catholic.
Religion has a way of separating people and being a tad judgemental toward each other instead of welcoming one another.


If there is a Goddess I can't imagine Her wanting humans judging and bashing each other. I'd think a Goddess or a God would be pleased if people just got along no matter what their beliefs were, or even if they didn't have any religious beliefs at all.

People might be better off talking to each other and getting to know each other instead of talking to a Spirit in the sky they believe in.

If the GOP fascists can control your life, they control your money, which is the name-of-the-game for them.

"People" don't insist everything is connected to religion. Republicans insist everything is connected to religion. The Left doesn't make religion the cornerstone of their arguments. The Right does. There is great resentment on the part of the Left when so much of the Right's dialogue is backed up by scripture. We're supposedly living in a country where there's separation between church and state. Republicans want to legislate against people in the LGBTQ+ community based on scripture from a book that's riddled with contradictions and ridiculous myths. When you have leading Republicans in congress quoting scripture (from the Old Testament which is essentially the Jewish Bible, or the Torah) to substantiate their positions, THEY are the ones insisting everything is connected to religion. It's not random "people." It's Republican people. Not that it should matter, but there is no mention of any form of homosexuality in the New Testament - the Christian Bible.

In addition, people here are interested in creating and furthering dialogue by posting their opinions. Chances are, you knew there would be backlash when you posted whatever it was you posted unless it was the first time you posted an unpopular opinion on a forum. I'm not suggesting you weren't treated unfairly. I'm not familiar with the post you're referring to. I am suggesting, when you post something - anything, be prepared for backlash. Perhaps, whatever it was you posted made you look like a "magat-nutcase" as you put it. Then you'd better have substantial proof that what you said is correct or be prepared for a bashing. That's the way all forums work that I've been part of. In general, I find this forum to be fair overall, though there have been a couple of radical Righties who've posted lies and misinformation. When they were called out on it, they continue lying to defend their positions, sometimes using "information" from sources that aren't credible due to spreading the same kinds of lies and misinformation. They even call some of the most prestigious media outlets with the highest ratings for accuracy and lack of bias like AP, Reuters, NPR, PBS, NBC, ABC, and CBS "fake news." If you're one of those people, be prepared to be bashed.

Disagreeing is not bashing.

Maybe you could think about what you are posting and where. Your post could also be taken as bashing by some people. It might not be bashing at all, but taken as it is and those people that feel it is want to point in out.
