When your dog brings you the same toy, I wonder if it's his favorite toy or if he thinks it is your favorite toy.

When we got our dog about 5 years ago...she was a rescue from a kill shelter...they sent a bag of stuffed toys home with her. Within about a half hour after getting home, she had every one of the toys shredded and stuffing all over the floor. (She has never chewed up any other think around the home since.) We picked up some chew toys and she just didn't seem to be interested in them. Until...Soon after we got her, one of our daughters brought her a red Kong ring. She grabbed that ring, carried it around and adopted it. She can't chew them up, but they get discolored and "stinky" after about 2 years. Tossed the first one and got her a second one. Never missed a beat. She's on her third one. Kong quit making the exact on the first two were. This one is slightly different, but she never noticed. Where she goes, the ring goes with her. Every once in a while, she'll be wandering around the house like she's lost something. "Go find your ring!" She'll stare at you. "Did you leave it outside?" Out the door she'll go and pretty soon, the ring is back inside and she's content. She's a one-toy dog!!!
There are a couple other chew bones around the house she avoids...unless one of the granddogs is visiting. Then, she get protective of those, too. She will try to hide them. But, if they do find one of the others she will lay in wait until they drop it and grab it. That's the only time she is even interested in anything but the ring.

I was wondering what happened to Nicole Wallace on MSNBC. She and her new husband had a baby girl in November through a surrogate and named her Isabella. No date set for her return to her program.

Common sense is like deodorant. The people who need it most never use it.

Common sense is like deodorant. The people who need it most never use it. Brings up a bad topic. The deodorant I've used for years used to be $3 to $4/container. It's now $7.99!!!! May boil down to either eat or stink!!!

Yesterday, I tried a new cake recipe. Baked a lemon jello bundt cake. It is so good and very moist.

Drifter , condolences to you & your hubby for the loss of a friend. A sad part of aging is losing those who pass before us.

This also seems to be true of various entertainers I have watched and listened to over the years. I seem to have regarded myself as the only one aging. For instance, I was shocked at how Kenny Rogers has aged before his passing. Then there's Kris Kristopherson, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and a host of others. Losing Pavarotti was heart breaking as well as a number of popular entertainers. Michael Flatly has a very dangerous, aggressive melanoma, so who knows how long he'll be around. I have seen so many go since the 50's( don't remember any before that)

Age is a mystifying issue. Willie Nelson just turned 90. He is sharp as a tack. Probably "enjoyed" more recreational drugs than a lot of people and still going strong. Keith Richards. There are so many who have...and are... living long lives. OTOH, too many seem to deteriorate and pass long before their time. I, along with lots of other folks, think it's way past time for Andrea Mitchell to retire. But, when I checked, she's only 4 days older than I am!! So maybe she's not that old after all!! :>) (Her husband is 97!!) We never know when our time is up. When I have aches or pains and feel as if age is catching up with me...I just go to the grocery store! Just walk around in there and look at all the folks in so much worse shape than my wife and I are. We've been extremely lucky! Diet? Nope! I've probably eaten more "junk food" than many my age. It may catch up with me tomorrow, but feeling pretty good this morning. Just remember one thing. Birthdays are really good for your health!! The more birthdays you have, the longer you live!!!!
