I am not talking about people already here and working, I am talking about the ones lined up at the border that crossed illegally. States north and south are running out of funds to feed and give shelter. These people have no jobs yet, so how are they living? States are asking for help from the government. Who funds the government?

Abbott of Texas had no problem using 10 million dollars of tax payers money to ship these migrants north east on buses. Who knows how much DeSantis of Florida spent. The taxpayers of those 2 states should be questioning that.

Illegals. Is it me or is that a harsh word? Besides, unless you are of Native American decent your ancestors probably came here illegally.
And yet, many legal Americans insist on calling this country a Christian nation. Lol.
I don't have a solution or an answer to this question. Lady Liberty still stands tall and welcomes everyone.
I can't even imagine how terrifying it must be to grab your family and leave your country with only the shirt on your back. Can you?

No, my grandparents came in legally with papers and no help from the government. I have to find the article but it said they found out that the Native Americans were not the original people here. I got side tracked. I think the problem is the amount of people coming in legally and illegally, the states are not prepared to handle this influx. It is not fair to people that did the right thing that applied legally to come in and are still waiting.

Life is not "fair". What would be your solution to the problem.

Life isn't "fair" and anyone who says otherwise is lying. Their lives must be extremely difficult for them to leave their country, their home, their way of life with nothing but the clothes on their back.
I can't imagine. Can you? I'd be terrified. I'm terrified just thinking about it.
Someone once said don't judge others until you walked a mile in their shoes.
Dragonlady, good question. I'd like to hear the answer.

Life is not "fair". What would be your solution to the problem. Close the border. Hire more people to take care of the backlog of applications. Since life is not fair, looks like the illegals are out of luck. Some left even though they had jobs in adjoining countries to make more money here, not all are being persecuted. They sold their homes to pay for busses, trains and planes to get here. Try to pack up your possessions and go to a border of other countries and get in. Not going to happen. Our economy is not that great now to take care of the world. Our country takes out loans to send foreign aid. How screwed up is that? We would be SOL if countries called in our loans. Sometimes a good thing just runs out.

It is not fair to people that did the right thing that applied legally to come in and are still waiting. We must have foreign workers. We have 8 million unemployed and 10 million job openings. If we didn't have a single unemployed American, we'd still have 2 million job openings. You're suggesting, while these people are being murdered, raped, and forced into either slavery or fighting a war they are opposed to, they should sit down, formulate a plan, apply for asylum from their home country and be patient while waiting for an answer back. It's hard to imagine a solution more detached from reality than that. Maybe, as a "planner," that's what you would do, but that's certainly NOT what I would do. I and most, if not all the people I know would hightail it to a safer place, knowing the risks are far greater to stay where you're at than to take chances fleeing to a perceived safer place. As to who's native and who's not...Native Americans were certainly here long before any of our ancestors, and they had well established societies before being overrun and attacked by our ancestors. If you want to get technical, we all have African blood flowing through our veins, so the only place true natives could ever have existed is Africa. The migration began there.

Shouldn't that start with Mexico doing their job to stop them from coming over? Where are their border controllers?

Drifter, we are a trillion in debt, where is that money being spent.? Where is the money coming from that we send to help other countries? If our country is so rich why are we borrowing money and raising the debt ceiling to pay interest on these loans. These people had to plan somewhat since they sold their houses and I hardly doubt that transaction took a few hours. As to Mexico we are sending people there to wait. Other than shooting people how does Mexico stop them? Do not think they have enough jail space to house them all. My problem is since I am resting my back, too much time on my hands and watching all this play out. I live in a small township where a few families could be helped but not say 500.
Off of my soap box now.

The GOP voted against more agents and more judges to handle cases and enforce the law at the border. The GOP should be blaming themselves, not the Biden administration!

Well said, Notbob! We slaughtered the Native Americans, called them savage beasts, even did horrible things to the women and children. History was apparently written with a little slant to it.

The gop behaves more like a street gang than a political party. They spend most of their time nit picking on the Dems. They don't seem to be interested in governing. Maybe they don't know how. They are an embarrassment.
Nkat, they sure do lie. When all else fails just lie. They aren't that good in working together for the good of the country, are they? They can't let it go. It seems like they have no interest in uniting US or working together. It's kind of sad and annoying. Move on already!
