www.washingtonexaminer.com/restoring-america/courage-strength-optimism/700-immigrants-cross-into-texas-border-town-at-one-timeCentral American Migrant Caravan-Border Patrol arrest-010119 AUSTIN, Texas — A group of more than 700 immigrants came across the U.S.-Mexico border onto private ranch land in Eagle Pass, Texas, early Thursday, making it one of the largest single crossings in history. The hundreds of noncitizens streamed through the Rio Grande in a processional order shortly after 3 a.m. local time, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection , the federal agency tasked with safeguarding the nation’s borders. The same agent said the notification was not out of the ordinary because groups of 100 to 300 people are pushed across the river near Eagle Pass before dawn every day. “It’s just — they kept coming this time,” the first agent wrote in a text message. A total of 704 immigrants were taken into custody and transported to Border Patrol facilities for intake, the second agent said. CBP confirmed the number in its statement on the incident. When agents are pulled into a specific area to apprehend and transport large groups of single adults and families, as in the Thursday scenario, other areas of the border are left unmanned. Smugglers exploit those vulnerable spots, running drugs and immigrants with criminal records or gang affiliations in those spots, which cameras and other technologies are able to detect. ========================================== Why is it the Biden adminstration and much of our media more or less ignoring this problem? Do they not see how many of our citizens are dying from the drugs like fentanyl? Like how many illegal are dying after crossing our borders illegally? Biden wants to hire 87,000 new irs agents when we could use more Border Agents.

It was a hypothetical number that came from a Treasury Department report in May 2021 that included a proposal of what the IRS could do with another $80 billion in funding.
It would be best if you fact-checked, your hypervilly.

Why is it the Biden adminstration and much of our media more or less ignoring this problem? The administration is not 'ignoring' the border activity, just responding in a responsible fashion. We all know that the Right is making an issue of the border, to whip up outrage and fear...seems to work well, hence your posting. Do they not see how many of our citizens are dying from the drugs like fentanyl? Not connected with refugee / migrants coming to the border. The drug cartels are manufacturing and supplying the fentanyl in response to the demand in the U.S. for opioid drugs. Like how many illegal are dying after crossing our borders illegally? There's no evidence that the Right even cares about the well being of immigrants, so I don't know why you even mentioned them.

This parts of your statement are not true, fentanyl usage has nothing to do with the immigrant crossing into Texas, So this is not sensical.
It is sad that parts of the world are so bad, people need to take their life in their hands, to try and get to a Democracy. Which the right is working at putting a strong man in, so it will be like where they came from.
It's real hard to answer a question which states lies, and make no sense !

You state ... " fentanyl usage has nothing to do with the immigrant crossing into Texas, So this is not sensical' Not sure were you have been but that is not true. FYI... www.justice.gov/usao-sdca/pr/fentanyl-seizures-border-continue-spike-making-san-diego-national-epicenter-fentanylFentanyl Seizures at Border Continue to Spike, Making San Diego a National Epicenter for Fentanyl Trafficking; U.S. Attorney’s Office Prioritizes Prosecutions and Prevention Programs SAN DIEGO – More deadly fentanyl is being seized by border officials in San Diego and Imperial counties than at any of the nation’s 300-plus ports of entry, making this federal district an epicenter for fentanyl trafficking into the United States. In the first nine months of FY 2022 (October through June), U.S. Customs and Border Protection law enforcement agencies in San Diego and Imperial counties (CBP Field Operations and Border Patrol) seized 5,091 pounds of fentanyl – which amounts to about 60 percent of the 8,425 pounds of fentanyl seized around the entire country. It's not clear what fentanyl is seized at port of entry, which has nothing to do with illegal crossing and what is seized from illegal, many of the articles are written deceptively.
We were talking about illegal crossing, not drugs come though ports of entry, they have nothing to do with one another.
The human tragedy of so many people needing, our country is sad.
Mayorkas to visit El Paso Tuesday amid migrant influx
I do not hear what GOP would like to, do which is humane. Besides the unacceptable inhumane wall, what humane laws are they work with the Democrats to help with the problem, or is this just complain loudly, and blame the Democrats, for not hating people who are different.
The GOP is an expert at complaining loudly, and coming up with no real solutions.

oldmontana , you would save yourself a lot of confusion if you would at least read the articles you post. The Fentanyl bust mentioned had NOTHING to do with immigrants, it was a U.S. citizen and a Guatemalan male passenger.
In your haste to slam Biden with a negative accusation you only reveal how un-informed you are.

Why is it the Biden administration and much of our media more or less ignoring this problem, not true!
The Biden administration announced Tuesday that it will work to close gaps in the physical barriers along the southwest border and fix environmental and other issues with the Trump-era wall construction, amid growing concerns about the federal government's ability to handle high levels of unauthorized migration.
Officials said the latest work, authorized by Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, will focus on Arizona, California and Texas and is aimed at addressing safety and environmental concerns brought on by the building of new or upgraded barriers along the border with Mexico.
Do they not see how many of our citizens are dying from the drugs like fentanyl. Fentanyl is not coming from the(illegal border crossers), So this should not in a topic with illegal border crosser, it is misleading, to add it in with a topic about,(illegal border crossers)
It is sad, people are dying to get to a free Democracy, away from the strong men they lived under.
You seem to be saying many people are dying to get the US, but without a number, your supposition is misleading.

www.buzzfeednews.com/article/adolfoflores/immigrants-us-border-deaths-risingFYI.... The Number Of Desperate Immigrants Who Die While Trying To Get Into The US Keeps Rising The number of immigrant deaths along the US–Mexico border is on the rise, which advocates and researchers said is the result of strict immigration policies and worsening conditions in native countries. Since October, the start of the 2022 fiscal year, there have been 748 immigrant deaths at the border, CNN reported. US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has not officially released the numbers and declined to provide them. The figure is likely an undercount. An April 2022 report from the US Government Accountability Office found that Border Patrol had not collected, recorded, or reported complete data on immigrant deaths to Congress. The report states that Border Patrol did not record deaths in cases where external entities, such as state and local officials, first discovered the remains and failed to note the data limitations in its reports to lawmakers. --------------------------- Glad to see that Biden has had a change and instead of stoping work on the wall and leaving the materials to rot he know he says he will build the wall, the wall that most on the left said did not work. There is hope.

I feel nobody is forcing people to buy the drugs yet alone take them.
Something has to be done about the border. Is there not a cap on the number of people that are allowed in to our country?

Nkat U.S. law limits the number of prospective immigrants who may be admitted annually. The Immigration Act of 1990 establishes an annual limit of 700,000 visas for quota-restricted immigrants.
