as to what the future may have in store for us as a nation of such unprecedented division if the snub is genuine. We'll see more of this because this Country is divided. He hasn't spoke with Pelosi since she appointed impeachment managers. He's holding a huuuge grudge against her. I heard nothing in his speech that pointed towards unity. Lie, after lie, after lie, especially about healthcare, SS & medicare and more. Did you know, he asked the Supreme court not to rule on his lawsuit on healthcare until after the election in November? Why not hear it now? He knows his base will waiver in support if they loose their healthcare now. So, IMO, he'll wait and screw them afterwards. As for what Pelosi did, ripping up his speech...she was stewing over the rejected handshake. Tit for tat. Was it the right thing to do? For her, it was at that time. Just as trump not wanting to shake her hand, was right for him. Voters will decide what is "right" for this country come November!

I thought it was a snub, but there's a good chance he didn't see her offer her hand.
The speech was a campaign speech. The SOTU, to be honest, is divided. If he were true to the title of SOTU, Trump would have addressed this and talked about unification and working toward the common goal of an America that works for everybody.
I would not have placed that speech in my briefcase. It might have spontaneously combusted because of all the lies in it.

Well, there is no love lost between those two but one of them knows the basic rituals of civility. She also knows how to express herself very tellingly without resorting to words.
Politicians play lots of games and the speech incorporated several nonconventional stunts that were out of place. The Speakers action post speech was fair comment IMO.

Voters will decide what is "right" for this country come November! You are absolutely correct on this. The only thing I'm concerned with is is that Bernie Sanders is gaining momentum and nipping at the heels of Pete Buttigieg. I would have never thought that "Mayor Pete" would fair so well this early on. I thought for sure that it would have been Biden, Bloomberg and Sanders (in that order) to come out shining brightly.

Let me respectfully ask this...."If it were a 'Democrat' as POTUS that pulled the same 'stunt(s)' as Mr. Trump did during the SOTU address, would so many people be up in arms as they are now?"

Democrats don't get in front of Congress and the World and tell lies that can be debunked in less than 30 minutes, nor do they have their ex porn wife award a vile lying racist drug addict the medal of freedom in front of congress and the world.

I'm going to post several links being that the stories would be to long to C&P but will post some videos.
I just want to know what you guys and gals think. What did you see? Was it a deliberate snub or did he genuinely not see the extended hand of Pelosi? I've watched the videos from several different angles and from one angle it looks like Mr. Trump turns quickly enough to NOT see the hand being extended yet another angle shows that maybe he DID see the hand being extended. But if it were that he did see the hand and snubbed the shake, I did not see the momentary hesitation that normally accompanies such an action.
I know that this is trivial in the grand scheme of things, but me thinks that this could be an indication as to what the future may have in store for us as a nation of such unprecedented division if the snub is genuine.

Another question continuing along the same lines......
"What do you guys and gals think of Pelosi's action of tearing up the speech at the end of the session?" Immature? Childish?
======================================================================= "What do you guys and gals think of Pelosi's action of tearing up the speech at the end of the session?" Immature? Childish? It was a lot worse than Trump not shaking her hand in my opinion.

Re: Pelosi tearing up tRump's printed speech
Good morning to all-
I think that wasting the paper of tRump's speech was not good. I can think of a much more appropriate use of tRump's speech paper... put it in the bathroom for people to use to wipe their... Well, you see where I'm going.
that's about all that ANYTHING that comes out of tRump's mouth is good for.
good day to all- Ed

I do believe Trump purposely denied the offered handshake from Pelosi. This was his third SOTU speech and he knew the protocol. His nose is out of joint. He despises Pelosi... and all Democrats who voted to impeach... and he knew long before walking into the Chambers he would not shake her hand.
I have mixed feelings about Pelosi tearing up the speech. On one hand, I stand with her and applaud her for showing the Nation the speech wasn't worth the paper it's written on. Nothing but fabrications and a campaign speech. After seeing a person who has made millions dividing our country receive the Medal of Honor, she was rightfully upset. Limbaugh has denigrated a President's daughter on his radio program. Called her the "White House dog". He called a college student a "slut" because she wanted access to doctor prescribed contraceptives. A despicable person who has been married multiple times and was caught sneaking opioids into the Country... for which he should have done prison time. Was the ripping up of the speech showing due respect for the Chamber? Probably not. Was the ripping up of the speech an effort to heal the divisiveness in our country? Probably not. Would have sitting there and not making some show of the disrespect of the Chamber shown by a lying, hateful, possibly treasonist, racist, politician been the correct thing to do?
The actions of both have happened and cannot be taken back. History will tell the story of both. People of differing political persuasion will always tell the story from a different perspective.

I thought Pelosi's tearing up her copy of the speech was a smart gesture that said more than any amount of words could ever convey: Trump's speech was a self-aggrandizing diatribe, full of lies and theatrical stunts. Granting Limbaugh ANY kind of honour, especially THAT one, made a mockery of every value that most Americans hold dear.
And yes, I feel that Trump gave her an intentional snub, despite knowing the formal protocol. She proved herself a better person by extending her hand to him.

He snubbed her. Think she did not want to keep a speech full of lies. She could not holler liar during the speech but gave us her opinion by tearing it up. As for Limbaugh just shows how low Trump can really go!

Why did Nancy even go for a handshake? Rather hypocritical, she can't stomach him. We need to be honest and tearing up the speech was a good gesture.
We'd all like to have unity, but it's not going to happen and who knows when. That paycheck talks ....
