I've taken them off and on for many years and have been OFF them for I'd say at least 5 yrs maybe more. I like Rainbow Light which is a food based product vs highly synthetic like so many of the multi's out there.....
I just ordered a 90 tab bottle of Women's One A Day Multi from R.L. and shocked at the great prices on ebay. This company's product is a high quality and hence a higher price...
Since I've been off a Multi for a long time we'll see IF I get a little blast of "something"...

I take vitamins separately like D, B Complex etc. Do not trust how they can get all those vitamins and minerals in one little pill.

I take a multivitamin/mineral tablet daily, for women over 50. My doctors are in favour of this. My previous family doctor put me on a B12 capsule once a week, and I'll continue until I ask my new family doctor about it. I take a daily calcium chew (with Vitamin D included) because of osteopenia.

I do,, in the form of Boost or Ensure. Everyone does what they choose, but these 2 products are not very good choices in protection and better health...probably chemicals and sugar for sure.

Thinking back in my life and when mom and dad were dying, we gave them Ensure stuff to just get something in them. They are certainly NOT for good healthy people to rely on, my thoughts on this. And yes, soy, corn syrup, sugars are some of the ingredients. The company makes it sound like it's the way "to go", and yes it can help when some are on their last legs, BUT....
For healthy people, good nutrition and some chosen supplements/vits are the way to go...and organic is the best choice.

No multi-vitamin. Just take Vitamin D-3 during the winter since there is a lack of daily sunshine to absorb. Boost and Ensure I use to buy for my mother since she wouldn't eat properly and needed to keep her weight up. Her doctor recommended it. I use to tease her that I bought her supply of adult Similac!

I get the impression that it may not matter to you, but have you ever had your D tested, you may take some in the winter months and then when you stop you go back to most likely a state of deficiency. I live in the sunny state and was shocked when I had labs done in 2006 and I came in with a stinkin low 16, range is 10-100. Unless you eat mega amounts of dairy, I do not, and there are books written on the Vit D deficiency epidemic. My sister who struggled with MS opened my mind in 2006 about the D "devil", she lost her battle a few yrs ago and was giving me warning on the D. When I found out about the puny 16 reading, I worked and got my level to 80 and remember feeling so good, then with hip replacement surgery, level dropped 40 pts and I've been working to get back to the 80 area again. Just had labs done a couple weeks ago and don't have results yet, but I take 10K D3 and K2 just about daily....so I'll know more, but I'm sure a lot of down feeling is living with so much body pain from OA issues.

Anybody remember Geritol?
Oh yes, it was big in my parents generation. They knew nothing about Vit D and stayed out of the sun and I'm sure both parents died very Vit D deficient as did all their siblings...We knew nothing about this back then, I surely did not. But I loved the sun all my life and would be in it some days 8 hrs....I was feeling good all my life until early 50's when I came in from the sun due mostly to cancer scares.

I have my lab work done twice per year to keep on top of it. My D always go down too low in the winter months due to the shorter days and lack of sunshine. During the summer, I'm outdoors a lot, doing numerous things on our 100 acres of land.
