....am I the only one not impressed by Harris' aggressive move against Biden? I thought it was out of line and that she went too far....Oh well, when Biden is 20 points ahead, I guess she was reaching. Don't pick on ole Joe, he's one of my favorites.... Eventually, someone will bring her own record to the forefront... www.nytimes.com/2019/01/17/opinion/kamala-harris-criminal-justice.htmlThank you for this.

Hey.. don't get me wrong, I will vote for her if she wins the nomination, but the whole thing just seemed contrived....she was selling "that little girl was me" t shirts the morning after the debate.
For what it is worth....she lost points with me.

As much as I would like to see a woman - any woman of any race or color gain the presidency, I personally don't think it'll happen right away. I was really disappointed in Harris's muck raking - and it was pre-planned. Dredging up something that happened 50 or 60 years ago is really reaching; people change and their ideas change as new information becomes available. It's the people who can recognize the need for change that make the best leaders (not to mention the best citizens) - not the people who cling to the past in spite of new information. Maybe she could hold her own with trump - and maybe her pit bull behavior could turn off a lot of more moderate voters. Maybe she has too much baggage of her own to make a good leader. I don't think this kind of behavior is in the Dem's best interest. She seems to have (perhaps understandably) a major chip on her shoulder

They will stay home or vote third party, maybe even vote for trump out of spite if Warren can't woo them into her camp. Then, imho, they are as bad as the jerk in the WH! Perhaps even worse. Sore losers and cry babies without an ounce of patriotism! I wanted Hillary to beat Obama. I was more than disappointed when it didn't turn out that way, but I sucked it up and supported our candidate like big girls do. You gotta know when to fold them, know when to hold them, know when to walk away and know when to run for the good of the country. Thanks Kenny. lol. Here's an interesting observation. Has anyone on here ever heard the expression, "too much baggage" directed at a man? I don't mean this personally, Dragonlady, I truly don't. It just seems to always be directed at women. It wakens the radical feminist in me. lol. I'd hate to see Harris become the poster child for "the angry Black woman" because that would nip her chances in the bud. Then again, maybe not.

Actually I have heard that phrase applied to a male - with mental health problems. In my profession - particularly the last years in Corrections Health I heard it frequently applied to males. Unfortunately, if Harris acts out the role of "angry black woman", she will become the poster child for that designation.

If Biden can't take the heat, Warren is my second pick she is who she is, not a phony.

I would like to have seen Biden explain that his position had changed instead of attempting to justify it. To me, he was making excuses. Joe should have campaigned for the nomination 4 years ago. He's just not the right person for the job anymore.

I'm for Warren or Harris. Personally, I don't think any of those male candidates can beat trump. Biden definitely does not have his heart in this race. I think he's in there because his deceased son wanted him to run. Bernie cannot control his bulging ego. Plus, he is one of the top 1% (or is it 5%?) He owns 3 palatial homes and who knows what else. He is a millionaire. He missed his chance in 2016. When I remember Clinton's debate with Trump, I shudder. The J.A. (jacka$$) was hovering behind her and intimidated her. I was yelling at the TV, "Tell him to get away from you!" She was being civil and did not realize at the time that she was debating a crazy animal! I can't even imagine Harris or Warren letting him get away with that tactic. I think Gabbard, Klobuchar and Gillibrand would also not let that happen to them. (In looking up the candidates profiles, I see that Gillibrand is the main Democrat to have Sen Al Franken resign. I didn't realize that. I like Franken. He is a good man.) Hmmmm.

June 25
Politico/Morning Consult Biden 38, Sanders 19, Warren 13, Harris 6, Buttigieg 7, O'Rourke 4, Booker 3, Yang 2, Klobuchar 1, Gabbard 1, Castro 1, Ryan 1, Bullock 1, Gillibrand 1
June 30
Politico/Morning Consult Biden 33, Sanders 19, Warren 12, Harris 12, Buttigieg 6, O'Rourke 2, Booker 3, Yang 2, Klobuchar 1, Gabbard 1, Castro 1, Ryan 1, Bullock 1, Gillibrand 1
So short term it did help her and hurt Biden.

I remember that debate when he was slithering around in back of her. He's such a despicable waste, a bully, a thug, a coward. He wouldn't have the guts to have done that to a man.
I wish she would have tuned around and kicked him in the gut. I was going to say another body part but I wanted her to have a big target.

I also read recently that J.A. paid some company recently to adjust polls in his favor. It seems anybody can take a poll or pretend to take one and announce false results. I know that during the 2016 Pres. Election, people were polled mainly on land lines. Most people who have land lines nowadays are seniors. They are not going to have the same opinions as young voters. I have no faith in polls.

One thing that was bad was The Hill had a report that was pick-up by other news outlets that Biden had lost 10% in a poll I could not find and the link they gave did not show it either. Fox news and other conservative news outlets were praising Harris. She got a lot of buzz for her attack. This does look good for the Democratic race. If news outlet are trying to influence the race.

I think we are ripe for a woman president. I don't like "muck raking" either, but politics is a hardball game. When the front runner is ahead by 20 points, he/she has a target on their back. If the attackee can't provide a good defense against attacks, they don't deserve the nomination. Harris pointed out a big weakness in Biden. Imaging Trump's "muck raking." Biden wouldn't stand a chance.
