Sorry you are homesick. You've had a rough time with accidents and illness in the last few months, so being depressed is the result. But life will get better for you --- I promise. Here's a big hug for you. Xièxiè

My stupidity posting when I was feeling no pain and unintentionally insulting people.

My stupidity posting when I was feeling no pain and unintentionally insulting people. Making mistake makes us genuinely human and we all learn from our mistakes

Sad to know you aren't feeling well again! You certainly have had more than your share of illnesses and injuries. Keep Heart, My Dear...Spring is just over 4 weeks away, and better times are ahead.

For me.....working above and beyond a normal schedule makes one very tired, worn and diminishes productivity in the long run!!

I had forgotten about this gripe... but was reminded about it today at the grocery store.. Forewarned... this will most likely make me sound like a crabby old lady but here goes..
Just finished paying for my groceries.. when the check-out girl.. who by the way was being really nice and sweet and friendly through-out the check out process said.. "Have a really nice day SWEETIE".... Sweetie? Here I am... likely 3 times her age and she calls ME sweetie? She has no idea that, I may be many things... but "Sweetie" isn't one of them.. I bit my tongue.. said.. "you too" … and left.
When I was a youngster and studying to become a Registered Nurse.. one of the first things we were taught was to address patients... especially older patients with respect.. and we called them Mr. or Mrs.. UNLESS the patient asked us to call them something else. Then and only then did we use first names or nicknames.. Terms of endearment were NEVER used... Those are reserved only for people we are close too.. Am I wrong?
It just gripes me when someone a third my age is so flippant with cutesie names.. I am not her sweetie... I am not even A sweetie... OK... rant over.. lol!

The husband handed the cashier the money for their groceries and the cashier said "thank you sweetie" to him. His wife came unglued and caused a scene. Demanded to know how she knew her husband so well that she felt she could call him sweetie. Embarrassed the heck out of her. (A cashier, probably in her 50's.)
After they had left and she waited on my husband and I, she complained that his wife thought she was flirting with him and asked if I would be offended like that. I told her it wasn't appropriate. I suggested to her to stop using terms of endearment with customers and she wouldn't find herself in that predicament again, because, it will happen to you again. I notice, she is no longer employed with that store.

I feel the older people deserve to be treated like adults.. respected adults... not like children... or called childish names. It's offensive.. My husband is about the only one in the world who is entitled to call me "sweetie"..... period.
