I often wonder why we can sleep a good 8 hours without waking up ……then every now and then wake up almost on the dot of 2 am …. When we used to travel to Adelaide and back on a Saturday night we used to listen to talk back radio on our 3 hour drive home ( the dance was on the southern side of Adelaide ) We’d hear lots of people phoning into talk back radio …saying they go to bed at 10 pm ….and get up at 2 am …. That was their nights sleep …. Take care 2old if I have a few of those nights I take a good quality Aussie made magnesium supplement for a few days

Oh no joybelle you take care as well I made a nice hot cuppa for you . We are in Noosa right now for 2 weeks it’s stunning area ( never been here before despite all our galavanting ) Noosa is an Australian resort area on southern Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Known for its heavy surf, Sunshine Beach is backed by cafes and boutiques. A coastal trail runs north past the beaches of Noosa National Park, home to koalas around Tea Tree Bay. South of the Noosa Everglades, kayaks and sailboats dot the waters of Lake Cootharaba. Inland, Lake MacDonald has the Noosa Botanic Gardens, plus an amphitheatre.

Just the reoccurring bowel problem Dusty. I think I would find Noosa too busy. Paul remembers it as a sleepy little coastal town back in the late 60's early 70's. Enjoy.

It’s very quiet where we are staying at Peregian Springs, joybelle it’s about 17 km from Noosa we may venture to the area tomorrow to do some Aldi shopping , there is a WW / chemist / lots of village shops as well as a Coles and other small shops all walking distance I’ll email you some photos, it a rather expensive area because most homes are on the golf course. We seen a huge sign for tiny house blocks of land yesterday , the sign said GRAB ….a bargain dream home block before they all sell out prices start at an AMAZING ….$750.000

joybelle, get to feeling better!!! Our oldest daughter developed irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) in high school. Plagued her into her early married years. Got to where she didn't want to leave the house unless she knew the exact location of restrooms where they would be going. In about 2005 or 2006 she underwent what was called the "J-pouch" surgery. Removed some of her lower colon and replaced it with something else. Something like 20 ulcers in her colon. Doc said if any had perforated the colon, the septicity could have been fatal. After the surgery, she had an ostomy for a couple months until things healed. Once the ostomy was removed, she has never had anymore bowel issues. For her, it was lifechanging!! I had some similar issues early in our marriage. Was a heavy smoker. In 1985, quite smoking cold turkey. Within months, my bowel issues disappeared. Still no proof it wasn't coincidental, but don't want to return to those challenging days!! Again, get to feeling better!!!!!!

Enjoy. joybelle My issues much the same that used to flare up quite often , till I started making kefir and eating more yoghurt. remember you sent me the kefir grains I’ve frozen mine while I’m away from home way to much messing about to carry a strainer / a jar …and ..and … The doctor referred me to a bowel specialist who recommend removing part of my bowel much like 2old daughter ,luckily mine settled with the diet changes thank goodness. Went into Noosa 16 km away this morning to do food shopping … …I recon everyone that lives in Noosa must have been in Aldi , I’ve near seen an Aldi so crowded …. remind me to keep well clear of …Noosa Aldi on a Wednesday

Dusty, so you folks have Aldi? We live within walking distance of a Kroger's grocery store. That's where we do 90% of our food purchasing due to how handy it is. We have an Aldi's on the other side of town. Wife likes to go there every so often since there are quite a few things the have a little less expensive than Kroger's. Seems like every time we go to Aldi's it's busy. They recently put in some self-check aisles like most of the other larger stores have done. p.s. Understand when I say "across town", that's only about 2 miles. And, this time of year with the college kids gone, takes about 15 minutes to get there. So, it's not like having to drive a ways.

Yes , 2old we even have one where we live altho it’s about 18 km from home in the main shopping hub of our area. The shop in the little town 4 km away is a Foodland , they are a group of independently owned supermarkets ( we have 2, one near us ….. and 1 in another town 20 km away ……. plus a dirty disgusting WW near Aldi I like Aldi partially for nice fresh veggies , picked up an nice very heavy cauliflower for $2.60 in Aldi yesterday as well as $98 worth of other food items , we’ve only had “ our Aldi” for about. 4 years prior to that , we’d do Shopping in the city store and lug it home from Adelaide, ….its .right next to Costco in the city ( suburbs ) ……Costco fuel was very cheap when it first opened about 7 years ago, so we could take a trip down and back to the city just for shopping …..and it was still a saving in food and far fresher . We also got a few items in Woolies yesterday , noticed limp looking cauliflowers $6 each ..nah … Foodland in our area and WW only get fresh supplies once a week so their veggies are always limp and super expensive

Cough, Rough, Though, Through. Why don't these words rhyme, yet pony and bologna do?

www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/wisconsin-bride-longtime-pen-pal-014821495.htmljoybelle, Dusty, I saw this on last night's news. Two ladies started as pen pals, writing to each other while in elementary school. One from here in the U.S. The other from Australia. They maintained their letter correspondence for 50 years. Quite a story. The Aussie lady was asked to be maid of honor at the American lady's wedding. First time they met in person. It caught my ear when, on the televised piece, the Aussie lady spoke. Regional accents here in the U.S. can have unique differences. Sometimes we get so comfortable in our own "world" we forget that good people from across the globe may speak differently, look differently, dress differently...but we are one as human beings. Were I ten years younger, visiting Australia would be on my wife and my "to do list"!!!!

I seem to remember that story about the pen pals meeting after so many years …it MAY have been featured in Aussie magazines called That’s Life …or Take 5 Those mags invite the general public to contribute stories for $$$ , so it’s mainly Aussie stories ,altho some are well written scripts IMO . Thanks for adding the article 2old I think I may have mentioned this before …after we sold our home in Adelaide in 2004 and went traveling in our caravan. We was staying in a small town in New South Wales during our travels and we went into a touristy shop to have a look at gems found in the area ….I said hello as we walked in the door and the lady said Oh you’re from S.A ….I can tell by your accent ….Yet when we travel up to Queensland we get asked if we are from New Zealand ….
