Trump now sending the national guard to protect our border with Mexico?? what is he so afraid of? A 2015 National Academy of Sciences study found that immigrants are much less likely to commit crime than native Americans, and the presence of large numbers of immigrants seems to lower crime rates. (Lower Mr. Trump!) Far back in 1931 in the United States, the National Commission on Law Enforcement, also known as the Wickersham Commission, devoted entire report on “Crime and the Foreign-born,” reaching conclusion that, when controlling for age and gender, the foreign-born committed proportionally fewer crimes than the native-born American..... and over years... this really not changed....so why is he scared of undocumented aliens... will they be only ones to commit the crimes?? something no sound right.... Maybe it is wrong to sneak into country undocumented... Maybe that not the way I would have done, but.... the majority of people who come here are not interested in doing crime.... they are just wanting a better life, a chance for American dream...White House say they are criminals who menace American neighborhoods breaking into our homes.... take American jobs away from good American workers, sap American resources and welfare... and exploit American generosity..... very sad thinking... instead of encouraging them to do the honest thing and become citizens.... we hunt them down and arrest and kick them out.....

It's just Trumps xenophobia peeking again because he is imaging caravan's of people coming to cross the borders. 
National Guard troops will not actively detain or handle migrants who cross the border illegally. An 1878 law banning federal troops from enforcing domestic laws could limit how much the guardsman can do along the border.
It's just for show.

trump and a large number of (conservative) white males (in particular) are concerned about the dilution of the white dominance by any immigrants. They pretty much have a stranglehold on the economics of this country and they are very protective of that status.

1) Trump wants nothing but this "beautiful" wall that can be an everlasting monument to him. He has his nose out of joint because he couldn't just demand the wall be built and hand the billions of bucks to buddies of his in the construction industry.
2) Trump was certain money for the wall would be in the recent funding bill that passed through Congress. He was too ignorant to understand it wasn't in there. That really upset him.
3) So, he said he would use Defense Department funds to build the wall. Nope! Shut down again. The budget money is tagged by Congress and Trump cannot indiscriminately use it for other purposes. Madder yet.
4) Throwing a temper tantrum he said he would send the military to the border and leave them there until he got his wall. Woops! Can't do it. The President, even though Commander-in-Chief cannot move active duty military to mission status within the United States. Only Congress can do that. Now, his blonde mop is on fire.
5) He can demand that States send their National Guards to the border. Yep! He CAN do that. States do not have to follow those demands. Most red states will. Oregon, for one, says they won't.
6) National Guard moved to the border cannot arrest, detain, shoot, kill, injure, chase, etc. illegals attempting to enter the Country. All they can do is act as eyes for the Border Patrol. They can man observation posts along the border and alert the Border Patrol when they see something that needs enforcement.
7) He now plans on leaving National Guard units on the border until such time Congress votes dollars towards his wall. In the meantime, the predominately GOP states that are sending Guard units to the border will be hit with tremendous costs. Citizens of those states serving in the Guard will be deployed for long periods of time to merely sit and observe... far away from jobs and family. Those are voters who will be unhappy with their Party. Taxpayers in those states will get a quite large bill. That will turn off more Republican voters.
The vindictiveness of this person who possesses no comprehension of the Constitution, the rules and regulations that a President must follow, or the definition of personal integrity is ever evolving into a more dangerous package with a shorter and shorter fuse.
