39F and sunny today. After the warm weather last week 80F amd then snow, we are stuck in the 30's. But the sun is shining today, which is better than all the rain for the past 2 days.

Been one of those years....
The first of this past week, we had frost delays at the course. Morning temps were in the mid to low 30's. Highs during the day got up into the mid 50's. Extremely late in the year to see temps in the 30's.
Yesterday, we hit 92 degrees! Today, it's supposed to get to 95. 10 to 15 degrees above typical for this time of year. It's 7:30 in the morning and it's already 74 degrees out!!!
Mother Nature is totally off her rocker!!!!

Are you safe? We saw this on the news in the morning. Do they know what caused these fires? Such devastation.

Yes, I'm safe, Drifter , and my son & grandson are safe, although they're not too many miles outside the evacuation zone. There are fires burning in several Halifax suburbs, and in my lifetime I've never known fires to come this near Halifax proper. There are also huge forest fires in several other parts of Nova Scotia, so the entire Province is on high alert. The fires are assumed to be human caused because there has been no lightning anywhere in the Province since before the fires began. Just last night, with several warnings and with the entire Province in an emergency situation, our Premier said there were five illegal fires they know of. Some people are just idiots, can't do without their bloody barbecues, etc. A large number of private homes and other buildings are known to have been destroyed or badly damaged. We don't expect any rain until Friday, and that won't be a lot. www.theweathernetwork.com/en/news/weather/severe/heavy-smoke-billows-over-highway-as-halifax-area-wildfire-fight-continues

Glad to her you and your family are safe formerlyme. Such a shame people can be so careless during dry spells and start forest fires. Your area is just gorgeous. I hope they get it under control soon.

Finally getting a little rain. Still in a drought, but we welcome every drop. 1.25" overnight last night. Expecting more tonight and tomorrow. Lightning pop last night that rocked the house and even woke the dog! See nothing in the area that was hit.
Pouring rain quit about 6:30 a.m. so we still teed off at the golf course at 7:00. Carts on path only, so got my exercise... which is much needed!

68ºF today. Gagging on the Canadian smoke drifting over our State. Today was the worst! Couldn't even see the tops of the mountains, that's how thick the smoke is.

80's here, today. Beautiful clear skies. Spent much of the day mowing, trimming, and sprucing up the yard. Drifter, stay outta that smoke if at all possible! With just getting over some sorta creepin' crud you don't need that stuff in your lungs! Why don't you and your hubby head out to the Midwest where it's... flat, no mountains... flat, no trees... boring, no bears... but lots of clean, healthy air!!! :>)

I'm glad the smoke moved out. But, with all the fires burning in Canada, I'm sure smoke will return. That crud I had was full blown Lyme's disease! They retested me last week for Lyme's and everything came back positive. Been on an antibiotic for it. This time, no bullseye rash and it affected my platelets and kidneys. Today, I'm feeling much better.
