Drifter , I hope the antibiotics ensure your platelets & kidneys won't have any lasting ill effects; glad you're feeling better today. Sad that Canada exported so much smoke southward from our many wildfires. It was really bad in Toronto, Ottawa, parts of Quebec Province & other areas up here, but less severe in my coastal city, lasting just a day or two. I stayed indoors, and only experienced an irritated throat.

80's here, today. Beautiful clear skies. Spent much of the day mowing, trimming, and sprucing up the yard. Drifter , stay outta that smoke if at all possible! With just getting over some sorta creepin' crud you don't need that stuff in your lungs! Why don't you and your hubby head out to the Midwest where it's... flat, no mountains... flat, no trees... boring, no bears... but lots of clean, healthy air!!! :>) That day, we stayed indoors most of the day. I'm glad the smoke moved out. But, with all the fires burning in Canada, I'm sure smoke will return. That crud I had was full blown Lyme's disease! They retested me last week for Lyme's and everything came back positive. Been on an antibiotic for it. This time, no bullseye rash and it affected my platelets and kidneys. Today, I'm feeling much better. Wow! Scary! Take care of yourself!!! Met with a local engineering firm this past week. One of the original owners still shows up there every day. He just turned 80. I retired from an engineering firm that we competed with. We're using his firm for quite a bit of work at our golf course. Lots of fun jabbing at each other. We met with him and the head of his survey group. Needing some minor survey work done. Told him I would have never wanted to be on a survey crew. Wading through brush, thistles, hedge rows. Dealing with ticks, mosquitos, snakes, etc. He said they are using a firm in Virginia that treats their survey party's clothes with a tick repellent. Survey crews send a bag of their clothes in each week. It comes back the next week treated. Not one tick since they started using this over two years ago. And, they probably have 4 or 5 crews out in the wild doing survey work at any one time.

(Had two different strains of Lyme's.) I need to get my energy back. I just feel drained.

Drifter, might be a good idea to take it easy for a few days, at least until you're through your course of antibiotics. Thinking of you, and wishing you a speedy return to your usual energetic self.

Thank you for your well wishes. I've been feeling lousy since May 2nd. What a way to celebrate our Anniversary, eh?! But, ugh....this evening, I again pulled another tick out of the back of my right leg. I couldn't believe it. Ticks are terrible this year. Must be because of the drought we were in for over a month. We are just now starting to see a little rain. Will be calling my PCP tomorrow morning to let her know about the new tick bite.

A little cooler this afternoon. Heat index is only 100 degrees F!! Last couple of days we've had the heat index up around 110 degrees. T-Storms forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Should help break this excessive heat spell.

Hot! Mid-afternoon temperatures 29C/84F (feeling like 36C/97F). It's mostly sunny with a hazy upper sky, no noticeable breeze. The only mercy is that the humidity has come down to 55% (from 100% earlier today).

90's today and tomorrow. Then we hit a stretch of six straight days in triple digits. Humidity to remain pretty high. 12 days before we drop back into the upper 80's.

It seems you receive the type of weather a day after we do. We had the same thing. Power kept flickering off and on but we didn't loose power in my area. Others did, with trees toppled on power lines and blowing transformers. One area even had a tornado. Woke up to 54ºF this morning and sunshine. Suppose to reach 80ºF by this afternoon.
