Being an elder (74 yrs.) who isn't 'stuck in the past', I enjoy interacting with people of all ages. Although my body is aging, I don't feel my outlook and personality have changed that much with the years.

I'm not sure if Seniors only is really a good idea.. look at all the bickering and back stabbing happening at SF... Perhaps a bunch of crabby old folks set in our ways is not a good format.. lol!

Seems as though the mix of seniors and non-seniors is working fine here.. As long as we keep 'em all drunked-up...

At first I only wanted to be on a senior forum but I'm really enjoying having all ages. The "seniors" thing was a novelty, I participate on numerous forums whose membership age ranges from 14 to ...up, with the majority being in the 14 to 34 year old category. Ha! One guy on a computer forum I frequent recently referred to himself as "old guy". I ribbed him about that, as he is apparently in his early 50s. I'm not sure that an all seniors forum is a healthy environment. Sure, you can live in the past, talk about old cars and old movies. But, looking at today's world through an antiquated perspective does not advance meaningful dialogue. I haven't been on senior forums for nostalgia, although that is occasionally fun. I like talking about politics, grandkids, retirement, books, entertainment, travel, etc etc. with people who are in my stage of life. My first seniors forum was Eons in about 2006. Some topics like health and fitness and dieting change as we get older. I like the mix of ages here.

Since it seems we CAN talk about what goes on over there, let me say this one thing (for now anyway, lol):
I don't get it. Matrix censors posts, waggles his pudgy finger in pms DEMANDING you title your threads the way HE sees fit; DEMANDS you make "longer replies" when you respond in a thread; deletes posts HE deems not worthy and in general is an a**hole. (Can I say a**hole?) Anyway...what I don't get it..WHY do those people over there LET HIM? Ok, we are all seniors. Did we lose our gonads when we lost our youth or something? They just take what he dishes and then STAY there helping him build his board. And his helper just grovels for him which is embarrassing to witness. Again, I don't get it. Why do they allow themselves to be treated in such a manner??? I read over there last night and got so dizzy from rolling my eyes, I had to leave. But not before I put in a snarky post after he said "I LIKE it without politics" which he deleted my snark within 2 minutes of me posting it. Um, got news for him: He can own a board but without members..its just an empty board. Its not what HE likes. Its what THE MEMBERS like. At least, that is how it should be. The internet is vast. HUGE. Lots of competition. I will laugh when the day comes everyone over there looks into their panties and finds their parts and leaves him all alone talking to himself because they finally woke up.
Sorry. I can be quite blunt. Sometimes I am sorry for being that way. Sometimes not. This time..not. ;)

I got banned from politics about a week before the election for being sarcastic to right wingers who were behaving worse than me (and didn't get banned). So I posted exactly what I thought about Matrix and his assistant knowing it would get me permanently banned from the forum. Unfortunately, I posted at the wrong time and hardly anybody got to read it since he deleted it so quickly.

It sounds like you think the only thing seniors have to talk about is the past? My friends on FB range from a 12 year old granddaughter to an 88 year old in law of my brothers. But I want to talk to a senior for certain topics. There are plenty of seniors here as well as the younger members which is great.

Oh, he is quick on the draw, that one.Key is to post in the wee hours, lol.
BTW...just might like to say that this place is being discussed over there and that this place is full of liberal left wingers and righties are not treated well.
Um..I'm a righty, sorta. Thought I might let that be known in advance. But you all have treated me quite nicely.
I should clarify better though. I am not an innie, outtie, uppy, downie, lefty, righty. I am wherever feels best, and that includes politics. Independent, I guess I am called although I dislike being shoved in a box.
Right now..I like our POTUS. But I won't if he passes the elephant trophy thing, or touches medicare or SS. I prefer him over the other hasbeen that was running and more corrupt than he is..IN MY OPINION. However...if Camelot were to be reborn with another JFK...I'd be groveling at the round table begging to belong.

I went back and did an intro saying no way in hell would I rejoin. And my home is in the UK so posting in the wee hours wouldn't have worked. I'm a solid leftie and you can guess what I think of you-know-who.

He invited all the banned people back? I guess he forget to send me an invite, lol. I discovered I was no longer banned not too long ago, but wound up making an a$$ of myself. When I get in my down moods...I tend to lash out. Which I did. I was also embarrassed at myself. So..I left. And the more days that passed, the better I felt not staying anyway. I guess I never really got over the fights Matrix and I had in pms and him eventually being a wuss and banning me.
