I probably "should" watch the debate, but I'm not. Rather, I shall catch up on the highlights afterward. Why? To begin with, I think that it is ill-advised for the President of the United States to consent to debate a criminal, it only lends legitimacy to a person who has no legitimacy.
Not to mention- I can't bear to watch Biden stoop down to Trump's level, as Trump is not going to rise up to Biden's. |

I won't be watching it either and I've always watched them. I have no interest in seeing Good debate evil or even see them in the same room as if they're equals.
I can't shake the feeling of other countries pointing and laughing at US. It makes me sad and mad that the US is now a joke to the rest of the world, and we deserve it.
Is this really the best the Republicans have? Really? That's troubling.
The Party of Lincoln is now the party of trump. Yes, very troubling.
Trump isn't capable of rising to President Bidens level so that will not happen. It's not even possible.

I am! Wouldn't miss it, to see how well the moderators deal with this debate and how irritated the orange Cheeto gets when his mike is cut off. I'm sure he's not happy there will be no audience either. I agree though tnthomas...Biden shouldn't be debating a convicted felon, giving him a free platform for the BS lies that he spews. But, it should be interesting. |

I think it would be entirely appropriate for a criminal that's been convicted of 34 felonies to be in jail orange, and in handcuffs. If it was you or I...

It wasn't good for either of them. No one walked away a winner. It was like watching two geriatric men battle it out for 90 minutes.
Cheeto with lie after lie, and with Biden being sick, he wasn't sharp at all. It was hard to hear him. It was the worst debate I have ever seen.
Still, If Biden stays in the race , he'll get my vote. He's better than the alternative.

Wondering out loud: Is there a chance that Biden would step aside at the Democratic Convention, and let Kamala Harris step up for the nomination? No. I believe he's in it till the end. Polls show if she ran against Cheeto, she's 6.6% behind him and most likely will loose. She's better off staying the VP, then if Joe decided to resign during his second term, she would move into the roll of President. But good news...Biden sounded more robust at his NC rally this afternoon. And, it appears he does have a very sore throat, but his voice is stronger. |

I would vote for an elderly and seasoned politician who isn't perfect rather than a lying, cheating, womanizing, criminal who is far from perfect and should be in jail by now.

Trump made more than 30 false claims at the Thursday debate. They included numerous claims that CNN and others have already debunked during the current presidential campaign or prior.
Trump’s repeat falsehoods included his assertions that some Democratic-led states allow babies to be executed after birth, that every legal scholar and everybody in general wanted Roe v. Wade overturned, that there were no terror attacks during his presidency, that Iran didn’t fund terror groups during his presidency, that the US has provided more aid to Ukraine than Europe has, that Biden for years referred to Black people as “super predators,” that Biden is planning to quadruple people’s taxes, that then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi turned down 10,000 National Guard troops for the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, that Americans don’t pay the cost of his tariffs on China and other countries, that Europe accepts no American cars, that he is the president who got the Veterans Choice program through Congress, and that fraud marred the results of the 2020 election.
Biden made a bad Decision to debate sick, and to debate with the rule of no notes. trump does not need notes, he has made the same lies over, and over.
Biden was stuck, being sick and trying to answer trump's outrages, lies, or the Questions, which trump was not answering.
We learned Biden, was not a good at Debates and has gotten worse at them, All we can hope people listened to all of trump's lies, and know that he is not kidding, he was just lying!

Trump behaves more like a circus clown than a serious politician. I guess his supporters are comfortable with that. Birds of a feather?
I'm concerned about the future of the United States if trump supporters are in control of the country or if we will even have a strong and united country if trump is in charge.
I have been a worrier for most of my life and not all the things I worry about come true.
But, I still have my fingers crossed. Lol.

Well the media has settled down a bit (not the far right media of course) since they have gotten a chance to digest the situation. I read somewhere a piece mentioning the poor debate performance by Ronald Regan in 1984., and how he was able to recover from that to win the election.
