www.washingtontimes.com/news/2023/dec/5/bidenomics-has-hurt-ordinary-citizens-and-they-kno/Millions of Americans believe President Biden’s economic policies have been terrible for their families’ finances. They are correct. Cutting through the administration’s fuzzy math and misuse of cherry-picked macroeconomic numbers — and focusing on personal finances — demonstrates how badly “Bidenomics” has failed Americans. Mr. Biden’s most damaging failure is the runaway inflation caused by his administration’s profligate spending and his war on fossil fuels. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, cumulative inflation under Mr. Biden exceeds 17%. This is the largest explosion of inflation in 40 years. Any wage earner who has not received a cumulative pay raise of over 17% in the last two years and 10 months has suffered a de facto pay cut. Wages have not kept pace with inflation, so the buying power of Americans has suffered. Inflation is extremely regressive, hurting working-class people. It is a tax on everyone, including the poor. While many working-class Americans do not have a degree in economics, they know they are paying more for less. Retirees and other savers whose investments or bank accounts have not achieved at least a 17% cumulative return have also lost ground. Inflation has effectively caused savers to lose money even where the nominal amount of their savings has not declined. =================================================================== It has hurt the average citizen and Biden has stopped talking about Bidenomics.

So you don't believe in growing the economy from the middle out and the bottom up, not the top down? That's what Bidenomics is about.

First... we all must understand the Washington Times is a hard right rag. But, let's dig into their article...
The 17% merely adds the annual inflation index for each of the past 3 years. That's not the true definition of cumulative inflation. You can google a cumulative inflation calculator and, for your information, is much higher than the 17% your rag suggests.
Biden's first year, 2021, was the beginning of the end of a pandemic. We bid a $500,000 facility in April 2021. Construction prices were soaring due to supply chain issue...cause by the negligence of the past administration's handling of the pandemic. Biden's administration was "gifted" with the Trump economy which had lighted the wildfire of soaring costs.
From the 7% of 2021, Biden has dropped inflation to the 2023 3.2%. That's is a win/win for consumers. And, it appears the inflation index will continue to decline going forward into 2024.
As far as family budgets, Biden has brought the unemployment index to record lows. Manufacturing has been returned to the U.S. under this administration. One of your heroes... Bobert of Colorado... just tried to take credit for the 850 NEW jobs created in her district by a bill she voted against. DeSantis got slapped down for claiming credit for infrastructure projects going on in Florida due to a bill he condemned.
Businesses are begging for help. Wages have gone up! Yes, your GOP gasbags in Congress refuse to allow raising of the $7.25 minimum wage. Few businesses can pay $7.25 and find help. Part time wages in our area are running from $15 to $20/hr.
We just had a lab agri-bio research facility open in our area that is employing 300 new folks. Another facility on the east side of our town will employ 500. The Panasonic plant 70 miles to our east will employ close to 5,000.
As Thanksgiving arrived, Fox tried to make it look like turkeys were being sold as some astronomical price. That was a falsehood. As the article you linked wants to kick as much dirt in the face of this administration, that's the goal of today's GOP. Gotta make the Country's leaders look bad so a fraud, sexual abusing egomaniac who wants to destroy Democracy smiles at them.
America is on the way back from the chaos and hurt of a washed up reality show host's damage. Fighting a House that has not passed one bill, instead being nothing but obstructionists, this administration is winning for the American people. Find something besides the Washington Times to quote. All it does is continue the negativity that does nothing to advance an optimism and excitement for the future of our Country. Quit with the negativism!! We have entirely too much of that coming from the mouths of the MAGA morons.

Your post can't change that and raising the minimum wage to $15 would only add to our high inflation.

I wish Biden had a plan that would work. His biggest problem is that he has done nothing on the border. Without Congress passing a budget for the border, what can he really do about it right now? They could go back to the stay in Mexico policy and increase the number of border agents. It's to the point that we need to send military to help. We need to stop the get aways. Me thinks Biden does not know what is going on or does not care.

That's just it...they cannot increase the number of border agents because there is no budget in place to pay them. IMO, Biden knows what's going on and does care. But, Congress needs to get their priorities in check and get budgets passed so things can get done. Also, the governors of Texas and Florida made things worse by illegally transporting many migrants all over our country, which they can be thanked now, for any dilemmas caused in New York, Chicago, etc. Yes, we do have an issue at the border, but without funding, it'll be harder to get it in check.

I wish Biden had a plan that would work. His biggest problem is that he has done nothing on the border. Most of Biden's plans do work, but it's difficult to pass legislation with the GOP obstructionist dominated House, that just want to focus on political theater, trying to tar & feather Biden through his son... just because Jared Kushner has questionable dealings with the Saudis.

Does not Biden have the power to close the border and process the illegals here? He needs to speak up more on the numbers not eligible that are being deported. Seems like a heck of a lot more are coming composed of military aged single men even from China, big red flag! What happened to the so called sponsors to pay for these so called migrants? How many maids and dishwashers does one city need who do not speak English? There has been trouble at a local Walmart with these illegals. An example 4 men with carts are blocking in people and will not let them out until they pay them some money. Arrest them and then deport them.

Biden could use his executive power for many things like to close the border or go back to the stay in Mexico which he did away with. All things that do not need funding.

I just do not get it of all the problem the US has, having a surge on the border is the smallest problem the US has, If we could give the people jobs the economy would be better. I was reading an article that, like oil companies, were taking huge profits, and making inflation, much worse. Biden, did not make the Inflation, the pandemic did, he is the one that got it under control.
It would seem, that good and bad economy is subjective, as soon as Biden became president, the good, economy became a bad one. He had not done anything?
Maybe if we destroy your country with tax cuts, the crazes will be happy?

To me, it is a huge problem! Who is paying for them , the taxpayer. Services for citizens are being cut like the police to take care of the illegals. What kind of jobs are there that the people could make a living and not be on welfare? Do not see many engineers, doctors or nurses in the mix. Can you afford to live in NYC, I can’t. NKat

He did do "things" that are costing you money. They could go back to the stay in Mexico policy and increase the number of border agents. It's to the point that we need to send military to help. We need to stop the get aways. Me thinks Biden does not know what is going on or does not care.
