www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/poll-bidens-standing-hits-new-lows-israel-hamas-war-rcna125251President Joe Biden’s approval rating has declined to the lowest level of his presidency — 40% — as strong majorities of all voters disapprove of his handling of foreign policy and the Israel-Hamas war, according to the latest national NBC News poll. What’s more, the poll finds Biden behind former President Donald Trump for the first time in a hypothetical general-election matchup, although the deficit is well within the poll’s margin of error for a contest that’s still more than 11 months away. The erosion for Biden is most pronounced among Democrats, a majority of whom believe Israel has gone too far in its military action in Gaza, and among voters ages 18 to 34, with a whopping 70% of them disapproving of Biden’s handling of the war. ===================================================================== And then there is the border and inflation. Is it not time to dump Biden and get another Democrat to run? What say you?

Is it not time to dump Biden and get another Democrat to run? What say you? Well...there's a $hit-ton that Biden and the Dems have accomplished for this country, while the GOP wants to give billionaires tax breaks, ban books, ban abortion, ban birth control, sell more guns, ban asylum seekers, cut education and infrastructure funding, cut funding for Israel and Ukraine, ban unions, cut Medicare and Social Security, support insurrectionists, etc., etc., etc., oh yeah...and the GOP wants to give billionaires more tax breaks - did I mention that? Let's check back again after the ad campaigns kick into full gear. Republicans are the epitome of what a "do nothing but harm" party looks like. Polls mean absolutely nothing at this point.

So, OM, were you polled? I've still to hear anyone that has been polled. Most of the folks won't answer their cells if they don't recognize the number. Pollsters don't leave voice mails. Land lines are often answered, but how many people under 60 still have land lines? Are those polled just a bunch of old fogies that sit in their recliners glued to Fox News all day?
The media wants the orange buffoon to win!! Whether MSNBC, CNN, Fox... no matter who... Trumpangerine's antics results in viewers results in advertisers. The POTUS is boring! He gets things done rather than play golf, call our military suckers and losers, bang prostitutes, get convicted of sexual assault, sell classified information to Russia and SA, and have 81 criminal indictments pending against him. Nah. There's still almost a year before the election. To be even suggesting this cult leader will be allowed to rip up the Constitution, execute or imprison his political enemies, use the military as his personal gestapo is a nightmare that I don't believe the voters will ever allow to happen.

Is it not time to dump Biden and get another Democrat to run? Do you have any recommendations? Everyone knew that the GOP would relentlessly harp on Biden's age, but the reality is that advanced age is different for different people. For example, Reagan was showing definite shows of cognitive decline well before he left office, at age 77.Nancy Pelosi is still of clear mind and wit,at age 83. Biden does not show signs of mental decline, sure he has gotten mixed up on a couple minor(but well publicized)incidents, as he has stumbled a couple of times. Persons 40 years younger than Biden stumble and have minor mix ups, and no one seems to notice. Gerald Ford! Hitting his head and having a couple tripping incidents didn't cost him the election, it was pardoning Nixon that cooked Ford's Thanksgiving turkey.

Sorry I do not see any Democrat that I could recommend. Do you if Biden listens to the polls that say they don't want him to run?

If Ronald Reagan were alive and was a Democrat, you wouldn't recommend him. Same would be true if H.W, or W. Bush ran today and were the same ages as when they were in office. They'd be too liberal for you. You can say I'm putting words in your mouth - guessing at your opinion, but you have a history of disliking Democrats, period. Republicans voted against funding for more border security, so don't blame it on Biden. Biden is our candidate. Get over it.

If Ronald Reagan were alive and was a Democrat, you wouldn't recommend him. Same would be true if H.W, or W. Bush Looking back, I actually voted for Ronald Reagan(1st term), then learned what a mistake that was. Later, I voted for HW Bush, he was in my view well qualified to be POTUS, he was a military officer(WWII), former CIA directer, and VP...he had actual credentials. W. Bush? Nope, researched him thoroughly, only "qualification" he had was his daddy's name recognition.
Once I became aware of Rush Limbaugh's move to blatant lying, and saw that the GOP was singing the same tune, that did it for me, was DONE with the Republicans fore-ever.

It took H.W. saying, "Read my lips." I was still a Conservative but voted Libertarian after that. It was W. that completely pushed me over the edge. The WMDs lie, which prompted the war with Iraq. I would have voted for a mosquito before I would vote for W. As a Conservative, it went against my core to vote for John Kerry, but that's what I did - anything to get rid of Dubbya. On the plus side, I started to pay a lot more attention to details when it came to politics. As an atheist, I was already upset about the Right becoming so religious - anti-gay, anti-abortion, and trying to bring scripture into political positions. I still didn't understand why congressional votes were so skewed at times against the interests of the masses...until...I plugged money into the equation. Once I did that, everything began to make sense. By that time, I had a full understanding of the fundamental positions of each party, and I had become a staunch Liberal.

That's the usual 'evolutionary' route that makes sense to me.However a guy that used to come to the gym told me that he used to be a Democrat, but then "saw the light" and became a staunch Republican. I was always puzzled by that, at one point I thought he was just lying about having been a Democrat. But as I recall, he did mention that at some point he had become promoted into management, so that makes sense...he HAD TO walk the walk and talk the talk, eventually internalizing the mindset as his own.

But as I recall, he did mention that at some point he had become promoted into management, so that makes sense...he HAD TO walk the walk and talk the talk, eventually internalizing the mindset as his own. You and I understand the philosophy of the Right very well. On the surface, it makes sense. "You can be anything you want if you want it bad enough." "Why should I have to pay for someone who is lazy and doesn't work?" "Why should I have to pay for their healthcare?" "We need to reduce taxes." "Trickle down." Etcetera. It all sounds logical, but a whole plethora of mental illnesses is not taken into consideration when it comes to helping the downtrodden, and just because a handful of poor people take advantage of the system, that's not a reason to help no one. Healthcare is a human right. Republicans only want to reduce taxes for their sponsors and people wealthy enough to help them get into and stay in office...and trickle down? That has never worked. In general, Democrats aren't much better when it comes to financial help from corporatists, so now we have to look at party philosophy. The party differences have never been so stark in our lifetimes. Most Democrats are on the dole just like Republicans, but Dems believe in human rights, workers' rights, a clean environment, strong infrastructure, education, and a host of other things that benefit the masses. That tells me that despite being on the dole, at least they're getting funding from sources that believe that taking care of the masses is the best way to have a strong society. So, what we have, is a party that favors the masses vs a party that favors corporatists. For me, the choice is as clear as it can be. I know I'm preaching to the choir here - just had to rant a little.

I am a compassionate conservative and I see where we need to spend more for people in need. Like I have always said when a person can take care of their needs they should do so when not we should take care of them. Democracy doesn’t work without opposing views! Happy Thanksgiving!

Democracy doesn’t work without opposing views! I would be true if the people were well-informed. The media just goes for the rating.
They try to make the news, exciting, even if they don't have the facts.
People get the news they wish to hear, for the rating.

As mentioned in the article:
These Democrats just "clicked" on a poll to voice their disapproval of the handling of the war in Gaza, when it comes time to make choices that matter at election time I have no doubt their choice won't be Trump.
