All the above leaders are carrying on the torch of the Social Gospel in one way or another. They are using the Bible, as Social Gospel leaders once did, to argue in various ways that Christian deeds are more important than creeds and that unfettered capitalism “thrives on selfish impulses that Christian teaching condemns.”
What Would Jesus Do, At least the Social Gospel, seems more Christian.
People needed to do good, and help others live good lives, not force people to do what they think god wants. I could not see Jesus doing, many thing god does in the bible,

The Bible was written by humans. The Church decided what got dumped and what didn't. People can say it was inspired by a God but isn't all things inspired by a higher power?

If there are Pearly Gates we will all someday stand before, I cannot imagine those who have let people starve in the gutter while using their resources for private jets, yachts, mansions, etc. are the first to be admitted. If there is only one true religion, why don't those who claim to be honoring that particular faith practice it...instead of just preach it?

Prayers are good enough for innocent kids killed by gun violence, but not for abortions?? If prayers works so well, they should use it for abortions.

All the above leaders are carrying on the torch of the Social Gospel in one way or another. That's refreshing, the idea of getting back on track with " what Jesus would do". The white / nationalist evangelical~fundamentalists have been an ugly blight on Christianity, reminiscent of the Hitler era in Germany.
