The Republican Party has become an extreme Christian party.
Anyone that believe in the Noah's Ark story is true, needs to learn science.
First there was no flood of the world, and two of each animal, does not give you enough bio, diversity.
The story is about obedience, to god, this is one reason you can't trust Christians, is they can kill, or do anything in the name of god. In one bible story, a person is told to kill by God, as an obedience test, So god asked him to break god's law, to prove his obedience. How could anyone trust someone that would do that?
It reminded me of trump and his cronies.

Speaker Johnson's wife is just as nuts as he is. She deactivated her web page because of the flack to her religious writings on it. She likened homosexuality to bestiality and incest.
Harvard law instructor Alejandra Caraballo, who is transgender, put a fine point on the Johnson counseling services.
“Mike Johnson, the new Speaker of the House, has a wife who is a conversion therapist,” Caraballo wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “She actively engages in the psychological torture of LGBTQ people.”

newrepublic.com/post/176550/where-mike-johnson-money-bank-accountAnd now this. This guy has no bank accounts! Nothing! He and his wife have made good money the past 7 years, but have nothing but debts. Big home mortgage. Home equity loan. Cashed in a small retirement account and it has disappeared. Nothing. Zilch. The fear is that he and his wife are dead broke. If that would be the case, he's prime for someone to begin padding tossing money at him for favors as SOTH!! There's something really fishy about this cat. He and his wife smell really bad. But, the GOP will close their eyes and do nothing... NOTHING but suck up to him and their MAGA hard right idiots. Oh! If the above is the case, do the American People really want this guy in charge of budgeting for the United States???

I can't believe he doesn't have a bank account. Maybe just not enough reportable money in it. How the heck would he cash his paycheck without one?
Maybe Senator Sheldon Whitehouse will have too investigate him too!

Between him and his wife, they've made too much money for it to just disappear. What happened to his money may be why he's so quick in wanting to defund the IRS. It's being put somewhere out of sight...and invested out of sight.
Cash the checks. Take the cash to another bank and deposit in an account of a "front" business account that his name is not affiliated with. The listed business owner takes 5% for laundering the money and investing it for him. He doesn't have to claim it on his disclosure. Just keeps enough in for groceries, etc.

I guess I see all this a little differently. Don't you think Republicans are doing us a favor? My goodness...banning abortion, book banning, birth control, guns, and all the other stuff. Now they want to give billionaires protection to enable them to cheat on their taxes in exchange for funding Israel. All this stuff will play very well in political ads, coupled with touting Biden's accomplishments. Oh...and then there's the impending collapse of Trump. The GOP is beginning to eat their own, but I believe at some point, some moderate Republicans will refuse to stand for it, and will cast needed votes for Israel and Ukraine. After all, some of those Republicans represent areas where voters want to support our allies. Voting against Israel and Ukraine could end their political careers.
Yeah, I've been wrong too many times to count, but I see terrible trouble for the Republican party. And yes, the Democratic party has a deserved reputation for blowing it, or wimping out, but it seems to me, the Dems are holding all the cards, and they may be more unified than I've ever seen.
I remain the cockeyed optimist.

Nkat I can't speak to how we're funding two wars and immigration. I can speak to how Republicans are complaining about funding two wars after they've given billionaires nearly $8 trillion in tax breaks. I can speak to the hypocrisy coming from Republicans who work only for their sponsors. If we had the money they gave billionaires, two wars and immigration would be much easier to deal with. For every dollar spent on the IRS, over six dollars would be added to our budget. The more we funnel money through our economy, the more taxes are generated. Higher employment means more withholding tax going to the feds. It also means, more consumer dollars are being spent (more taxes). More consumer spending generates advancements in businesses (more taxes). The more corporations and individuals spend, the more the government benefits. Properly funding the IRS would bring in billions from wealthy tax cheats alone. That says nothing about taxing corporations and billionaires at a fair tax rate as opposed to the discounted rates they've been seeing. It's important to understand, CEO to employee compensation rate has gone from 20:1 in 1965, to nearly 400:1 today...and corporations and the wealthy are paying taxes at a much lower rate today compared to 1965. Republican representatives couldn't care less about that. They work for their sponsors.

I remain the cockeyed optimist. I admire you're optimism, but it appears that my lot in life is to be the defensive pessimist. I am "paying for" all the time when I was so naive to think that the American people would not tolerate the dishonesty and corruption and outright moral bankruptcy that epitomizes the Republican party. With every crooked move, the Republicans instead get stronger, both at the Federal and state level.

Lol, love the graphic. I get where you're coming from. I often feel that way too, but it seems to me, the Republicans offer nothing but drama to moderates and independents. Democrats offer solutions that have a history of working. I think it'll take a horrible blunder for the Dems to lose the presidency, the house and the senate. I believe the Dems will take control in '24. But like I said, I've been wrong too many times to count. We'll see...
