Anybody watch it? We suffered through it. The only two I thought that did okay were Haley and Pence. Still, everyone's agenda really turned me off. DeSantis was awful. And Ramaswany, wow....such a loud mouth and to me, not Presidential material at all. HERE ARE THE WINNERS AND LOSERS FROM THE FIRST GOP DEBATE

Didn't watch it. Figured it was nothing but some GOP talking heads Faux was using for a decent night of ratings. Don't expect any one of them to be the GOP candidate in 2024. In fact, if the former guy is ruled ineligible to serve if elected and drops out of the race... I don't think the GOP has a clue who they would run. It would probably be sorta like the hit man the Mafia Don directs while inside the prison. McCarthy... ????

I wonder why 7 or the 8 candidates raised their hands, stating they would support trump if he won the nomination, even if convicted of his crimes. The GOP have no scruples. And Christie talks out of both sides of his mouth, to raise his hand for a yes vote after bashing trump.
None of them have a chance of becoming the nominee.
The Republican focus group of young people in Iowa who watched the debate, were asked afterwards, who they would support for a candidate. Most hands went up for trump. So sad, when they would chose someone who thinks he's above the law.
Republicans sure have lost their way.

The Republicans have boxed themselves in where they have no choice but tRump. The cultists in the MAGA circle will not vote for anyone except him. And... if these 8 are the best they have to offer outside of him... the Party is done!
But... Look at the Democratic Party. If, God forbid, President Biden dropped dead tomorrow who would the Dems run against a viable GOP candidate? I really enjoy Harris. She has been front and center and I believe would make a great POTUS. That thought is not carried throughout the Democratic Party! Sanders? NO! Mayor Pete? Good qualifications, but the LGBT thing would turn off a significant share of the voters. Clinton? Doubt she would even want to get close to the political mess again.
In a nutshell, it is a sad state of affairs when the two major political parties don't have good competitive candidates to vie for POTUS. Currently, I believe Biden will win in a landslide in 2024. The Dems better get their act together, though, and start grooming some good candidates for 2028!! We know the GOP will be doing that as the tRump manure pile begins to slowly lose its smell amongst their Party.

If, God forbid, President Biden dropped dead tomorrow who would the Dems run against a viable GOP candidate? My first pick would be Harris, if she's so inclined. If not Harris maybe Gov. Gavin Newsom might consider throwing his hat in the ring, although I'd hate to lose him as governor.

Though I agree with her positions, I doubt she's electable. I like Gavin Newsome a lot, and I think his current campaign against book bans and other GOP ridiculousness is a precursor to a presidential run. I also really like Delaware governor, Wes More. While he sometimes comes across as a little bit phony, he has the credentials to back up his positions, and he has a purely positive attitude. I have no clue whether or not he'd consider a run.

Being "nice" is not an option. I liked when President Biden told Trump to shut up on live TV! The only thing I would have liked for Biden to say
differently would have been: "shut your big fat F-n mouth, A$$h*le."

Funny how women always seem to come off snarky and arrogant. If a man behaved the exact same way he'd be strong and brilliant. Many things have changed and got better. It seems as if some things will never change. It's also so sad that trump would step over their body if they fainted in front of him. What do they like about him? That he's arrogant and daddy left him a lot of money? His daddy was friendly with Nazis? Do they even know about Nazis? Do they honestly think he's one of them just a regular guy? I thought these young children were smart, thoughtful and concerned for their future. Well, like the old saying goes...do you know what happened to Thought? He "thought" he had to fart and he pooped his pants instead.

I doubt Harris would win if she ran for President again. Look what happened the last time. She didn't have the funding to keep going and had to drop out. Besides, her approval rating as VP is tanked. I always thought she would have make a good AG though.
Sadly, I still don't think this country is ready for a female President.

It's about time the country grew up and realized there are plenty of bright and qualified women out there able to be our leader, our president.
Other countries are well aware of this. They realize being a leader doesn't have anything to do with what sex you are.
As a woman I find this insulting, sexist, and stupid.
It's time for us to move on and pick someone who is qualified to be our president and not pick them by what position they are in while peeing.

You are correct birdgal! Now if they would only find the perfect female to run that Dems could get behind. I still say, if it wasn't for Comey, Hillary Clinton would have won! I think she would have made an excellent President.

I think she would have made an excellent President. I still think Comey got a "paycheck" from Trump, for his role in throwing the election. I gotta say, where oh where was the outrage? Everyone knew what went down! Why wasn't there a big, loud, stinky investigation into the beginning of Trump's push
towards dictator-in-chief? Maybe the Republicans are right, taking the High Road is a sign of weakness...

Trump Republicans of today have no idea what the high road is. These people are not the same Republicans your grandparents and parents voted for and respected.
Many who call themselves Republicans these days are trump worshippers and followers. Not all Republicans, but enough to stain the image of the party.
It's sad and scary. I'm hoping there are enough true Republicans who still take the high road, as they've always done, deep six trump and his twisted ways right now, and take back their Party.
Tnthomas, taking the high road is never a sign of weakness except maybe in the minds of some republicans these days. It's a sign of strength, integrity and honesty.
