energycommerce.house.gov/posts/one-year-later-even-president-biden-admits-the-inflation-reduction-act-failed-to-lower-costs-for-americansOne year ago, President Biden signed the Democrats’ so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” into law, promising it would reduce inflation and make life more affordable for Americans. Unfortunately today, people continue to struggle more than they did when the president first took office: Inflation is up more than 15 percent. The cost of groceries for Americans has risen approximately 20 percent. U.S. gas prices are up nearly 62 percent. Natural gas prices are up more than 40 percent. His policies have led innovators to stop research into potentially new treatments, including for brain cancer and leukemia. The bill is expected to increase launch prices of drugs according to a CBO analysis. =================================================================== Another of many of Biden's policies that are costing us all. Not hard why so many do not want Biden to run.

Where do you get that ridiculous data?
If Your Time is short
• Gas prices have gone up under President Joe Biden, continuing an upward trend that began in May 2020.
• The increase is largely due to supply and demand, energy experts say, rather than presidential policies.
• The coronavirus pandemic prompted a big fall in oil demand and gasoline prices, due to declines in driving and air travel. As the economy has slowly rebounded, growing demand has boosted prices at the pump.
There’s been chatter online recently about the recent spike in gasoline prices — and whether President Joe Biden is to blame.
One Facebook post features a photograph of Biden with the caption, "Gas prices going up? How do you like me now?"
Another Facebook post uses a different picture of Biden and a thinly veiled comparison with former President Donald Trump. "Gas prices are soaring," the caption says. "But thank God there were no offensive tweets this week."
These posts were flagged as part of Facebook’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Facebook.)
Concern about rising gasoline prices also reached Fox News, where anchor Bill Hemmer said on March 1, "Gas prices are going higher, and if you don't think that Middle America takes notice of that, think again. We are seeing prices now that we frankly haven't seen in years."
Given the apparent alarm about gas prices, we thought it would be a good time to take a look at where they stand now, how they measure up historically and what’s causing the price movements. Are gas prices going up?
Yes, according to federal data, gas prices have mostly been going up since they bottomed out at $1.87 a gallon in late April 2020. With gas prices reaching $2.72 in late February 2021, that’s an increase of 45% within about 10 months.
Part of that has come on Biden’s watch — prices have risen about 10% since he took office in January 2021. The bulk of the increase came under Trump.

Interesting post. Thanks. But my thread is about the inflation under Biden. Prices up 15% under Biden. Oil is a worldwide commodity but under Biden we have gone for being energy independent to being energy dependent. Biden hates oil, and he has done things that show that. One of the main reasons for our high inflation are the many programs that gave money to many that do not need it, like giving tax free money to families with children that make up to $250,000.00 A year. That when the average family is making about $87,000 a year. Telling.

Economics is not "rocket science", the average layman can understand the principles and basic functions of the economy. Coupling a decent level of understanding of free market economies with an unbiased view of current events will lead a person to clear headed understanding, so as to make intelligent thought and decisions on the political scene. oldmontana, I wish you the best, maybe you can still achieve some valid understanding.

Interesting that every negative issue across the U.S. and, for some reason, across the globe is the fault of a U.S. President. It's easily documented that Biden has done a tremendous job. He has been able to get things like the infrastructure bill passed against a Negative Nellie House. Republican elected officials are trying to take credit for the many things their constituents have benefited from since passing the bill...even though they voted against it.
So, if you want to make every evil in the economy the fault of President Biden, let me ask this. Just who would you like to see as the Democratic candidate instead of Biden? Could that candidate defeat tRump and save Democracy? The former guy has been very open that he would install himself as the ultimate ruler, firing any government worker that didn't bow at his feet. Democracy would be gone. Many things that people across the Nation have depended on from the government... Social Security, Medicare, FEMA dollars after weather disasters, national security, defense against Putin. The list is long.
Country could not survive as a free Nation under MAGA rule. Biden has achieved bipartisan success in some areas. Biden has assisted Ukraine holding the line against Russia. Biden has seen improvements in getting rural areas internet service. So, evidently you don't like what Biden has done so just who would you run that would beat tRump?

He claims he dislikes Trump, yet he spews much of the same rhetoric Trump spews and puts up posts like this in a deceptive effort to show that things were better under Trump than under Biden. Let's not forget, Biden raised taxes...ONLY ON PEOPLE MAKING OVER $400,000 A YEAR. With that money, he improved infrastructure, healthcare, education, etc., but oldmontana supports the party that voted against these improvements and gave the wealthiest people on the planet the bulk of a $1.9 trillion tax cut. The only thing oldmontana cares about is bashing Biden and Democrats. Facts mean nothing. He's a Right-wing troll who is anti-America, and pro-corruption. Rather disgusting, isn't it?

"The only way to permanently protect ourselves from the volatility of the global oil market—and soaring gas prices—is to opt out entirely and transition to both clean energy sources and the electric vehicles that run on that clean energy. Steep federal investments that build out renewable energy infrastructure and make EVs the norm will ultimately provide a far more stable energy market for all and help protect the only planet we’ve got." The Real Reasons for High Oil and Gas Prices

"A POTUS has no influence over the price of gas, inflation, interest rate and such." OMG! Saying that shows how uninformed you are. Haha, you are so predictable, it's no fun trying to educate you. In your inverted world the POTUS influences the price of gas, inflation and interest rates ONLY if the POTUS is a Democrat. If the POTUS is Republican then it's Congress' fault, or the previous
Democratic president's fault...that pretty much your belief, oldmontana ?
I suggest you carefully read notbob 's The Real Reasons for High Oil and Gas Prices article, you "could" learn something.

oldmontana , here's some more "homework" reading for your better-late-than-never economic education:
Question: Who is responsible for interest rates?
Question: What causes inflation?
Answer: Further:
