A despicable gang of thugs!
I'm a lifelong Democrat and I feel bad for decent Republicans who have to deal with so much sludge and slime slithering around in their Party.
They deserve better. Much better!

Gonna be lots of education about corruption, political wrangling, etc. as this goes forward.
Some time back, Georgia passed a bill through their legislature giving the Governor power to remove a District Attorney for malfeasance. The Governor is to appoint a "commission" of six people to make the case and they will vote to remove or retain. The law was supposed to take effect in 2025. A few weeks ago, the legislature amended the law to have it take effect in October 2023!! So, it would be possible to remove Fani Willis right in the middle of the trial. Would the Governor? Maddow's panel seemed to think it would be even more political suicide for the GOP, but they are known to bow to the orange buffoon no matter what.
The Governor of Georgia does not have pardon power in these cases... yet. Today, the Georgia legislature is considering putting forth a bill to change that and give him the ability to pardon. Again, the GOP majority legislature may well do whatever they can to bow to tRump.
Willis says she will try all 19 at once. Commentators say this is durn near impossible. Imagine 19 defense attorneys and their staff people... all the defendants... court staff and jury. Would be a circus and probably result in mistrials.
Then, there's the televised issue. The trial needs shown live for the public to hear the evidence presented. Other wise, whichever side loses will have their portion of the public believe it was a fixed jury, etc. But, if the trial is televised how do you keep jury and witnesses out of the public picture. How many will be in danger of losing their lives as the MAGA cultists believe they need to assist their leader with violence and death? The witnesses would sequestered. That may need to happen anyway. If the witnesses hear each other's testimonies are they all apt to follow suit whether truth or not?
There's still the SCOTUS. Let's say all 19 are convicted of the indicted charges. It's certain to end up with appeals to the tRump appointed majority of the SCOTUS. Will they wipe it all out with rulings that undo any convictions?
Lots of things to unfold before our eyes as this moves forward. The one thing we do know? 45 will be front and center in every news cycle for the next days...months... years...........

They need to all be tried together so that the jury will get a clear understanding of how the racketeering scenario unfolded, and who fit into that scheme, and how. You need all pieces of the puzzle put together at the same time/place for it to be fully comprehended!
I surely hope that this trial will be televised, even though the logistics could be challenging.

The judge stated the arrests will be televised on August 25th, as they should.
