The US Supreme court has sided with a California law mandating pork sold in the state come from pigs raised in humane conditions.
That the US Supreme Court basically said is, a state can make laws about the food they eat, and it has nothing to do with the US Constitution.
There is no law saying that you have the right to make food the cheapest way possible.
I eat almost no pork, I talked to some people who do, they did not like that the price could go up.
It is unlikely the price will go up in Massachusetts.

All animals should be raised in humane conditions.

I agree! However. there are many, many people who are not humane at all. We are the most dangerous, destructive, and cruel species on the planet.
We like to think we're the greatest but we are probably the weakest. If we didn't have human made weapons and killing machines do you think we'd survive a confrontation with a wild animal?
Take a drive or a walk. See all that litter? I don't think the wild animals tossed those coffee cups and other things out their car window.
