I thought we had the right to free speech, It does not see so in Florida.
I thought people had the right to be who they are, does not seem so, in many US states.
I thought women had the right NOT to have died babies.
I thought the GOP was for states rights, now, the GOP states are trying to force other states, in to their religious laws. Using their state powers, or the feds?
I thought Non-Christians had equal rights, too Christians, does not seem to be so.
The GOP is fighting for the freedom? to ban books, and fight sex education, of any kind, to anyone.
In one state, the GOP is fighting to make child, labor easier, so kids can work, but not know about sex?
They seem to be trying to indoctrinate Kids, in hate!!
It seems to be working, anti-Semitic attacks are up.

When thinking about all of this, I'm certain Republican politicians don't really give a damn about any of it. These are mere symptoms of a much bigger problem. These are social issues on which we all have differing opinions. Republicans are exploiting our differences for the purpose of dividing us. Divide and conquer. Republicans are doing this to fulfill their sponsor's expectations. While we take our eyes off the ball and fight over social issues, Republican legislators are giving their sponsors tax breaks and deregulating the workplace and the markets. Since 1978, CEOs have seen roughly a 1400% increase in compensation while working stiffs have only seen about an 18% increase. Trump and the Republicans passed a $1.9 trillion tax cut, most of which went to some of the wealthiest people on the planet while we were fighting over covid and Black Lives Matter. "Yeah but hey, look over there."

The world is now too complicated, for many people, it is easy to use the complication to scare people. We should be talking these social issues over, but the leaders are playing to people's fears, it's not possible to talk things over, when people are pushed in to a lynch mob state of mind.
