www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/meetthepressblog/early-biden-vs-trump-polls-signal-competitive-election-rcna74163The 2024 general election is still more than 600 days away, President Joe Biden hasn’t yet announced his intentions (though it’s more than likely he runs) and the Republican presidential field is far from set. But the very, very early general-election polls signal that 2024 is shaping up to be another close contest. Especially if it’s a rematch between Biden and former President Donald Trump. A national Washington Post/ABC News poll from last month showed Trump leading Biden by 3 points among registered voters, 48%-45%, within the poll’s margin of error. (In Sept. 2022, the same poll had Trump up 2 points, 48%-46%) ========================================== That is hard for me to understand but it shows what a bad job Biden has done.

Especially if it’s a rematch between Biden and former President Donald Trump. It will be interesting to see what the GOP does if Trump is indicted for any of the numerous crimes he's committed. My guess is that as long as the donations keep coming in they'll look the other way.

Tell us about what a bad job Biden has done. Certainly, Biden hasn't done a "perfect" job, but he lowered drug and healthcare costs, capped the cost of insulin, worked against climate change and the investments in clean energy coming from the Inflation Reduction Act will save on energy costs in the future, to say nothing about how it will bolster national security. While it's not a panacea, at least some actions were taken to make us safer from gun violence. He cancelled a large portion of student debt for low and middle income families which is a needed investment in the future of our country. Then there's the "Chips Act," bringing chip manufacturing to the US, relieving our dependence on China, to say nothing of the increased number of jobs it will create for US workers and again, increases national security. The American Rescue Plan is preventing cuts to worker's retirement plans, increases funding for healthcare and childcare services, promotes affordable housing for low income families, and provides additional funding for crime protection. He's pretty much fixed supply-chain problems caused by the pandemic and took action against corporate greed where fuel prices are concerned. He reduced the cost of fuel by releasing federal reserves. He's boosted our standing in the free world by taking a strong position and leading the free world against Russia's aggression in Ukraine. Let's see...he boosted healthcare benefits for veterans affected by burn pits - something no Republican voted for the first time around until there was extreme backlash from the public. It passed with the second introduction of the bill. He invested in the postal service to ensure long-term stability. He signed the "Respect for Marriage Act, oversaw the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act, got the first Black woman appointed to the Supreme Court, and pardoned those serving prison time for simple possession of pot. I realize you think Biden has done a bad job but compare that to what Trump and the Republicans did in the four years prior. Ummm...how'd that go again? Oh yeah, Trump and the Republicans gave a $1.9 trillion tax cut that mostly went to the richest people on the planet. Biden hasn't declared his candidacy yet, but when he does, he is absolutely loaded with ammo for the ensuing battle. Bring it on!

========================================== That is hard for me to understand but it shows what a bad job Biden has done. Why is it, when you're called out on statements you make, you're so often silent. You said Biden has done a bad job. I said you should be specific and tell us about what a bad job he's done. Please tell us about how Biden has done such a bad job, because I don't see it. Please put real information where your mouth is. The fact is, Biden has yet to declare his candidacy. Trump, on the other hand, has been dominating the media whether it's information regarding potential indictments, or crybaby, mobster Trump himself attempting to look tough and spewing lies and inciteful rhetoric as he has done for the past seven plus years - all his life actually. The real battle has yet to begin. We'll see what happens once Biden hits the campaign trail. But in the meantime, tell us about what a bad job Biden has done.
