fox2now.com/news/missouri/missouri-house-votes-against-limits-on-kids-carrying-guns/Teenagers in St. Louis are carrying AR15 down the street. The Missouri Legislature was asked to pass restrictions that would require minors carrying firearms to have adult supervision. Their GOP majority said that would be an infringement on the kids' rights. Minors, kids of any age, are completely legal walking down the street in front of your home openly carrying loaded firearms. Drive down a street and be shot at by an 8 year old thinking he's playing video games. A six year old in Virginia just shot his teacher in the schoolroom. So, why not arm all the kids. The only thing to stop a bad 6-year old with a gun is a good 6-year old with a gun.....

Unbelievable!!! The cops must be thrilled. Who will be held responsible when one of these gun totting kids kills someone? The parent who gave them the weapon? The Missouri legislators? Will civil suits be brought against cops that kill these kids? Republicans need to get their heads out of their asses!

This is an Obscenity! Missouri has gone absolute bonkers, and only bad things can result from this. Too young to have a driver's license, too young to vote, but okay to carry a loaded assault weapon around in public! WHAT THE HELL!!!

I am giving the kid's parents, the parenting prize of the year, for having a loaded gun in the house, with the kid with psychological, anger problems? What could go wrong? Sandy Hook comes to mind!

That is absolutely ridiculous. A child that age does not have the mental maturity to fully understand or grasp the weight of his/her actions in a given situation.I also doubt they've had the training to fully handle their weapons in a proper manner.
I am a gun owner. I have my CCL. I am well-trained. I still do not believe children should be open carrying through the streets of the US. Hell, my brother-in-law is a law enforcement officer & teaches a concealed carry class and with the stories I've heard from him about people coming through his classes, I honestly don't believe most adults who have guns are fully capable nor properly trained. If you don't know what you're doing, you are more of a liability in a situation than a help.

I'm probably in the minority here but does everybody really need a gun? Are we going back to the wild, wild, West?
You can't walk into a supermarket without wondering if some guy who was just dumped by his girlfriend who works in the deli department, is thinking about shooting up the place.
We still call ourselves the Intelligent species. Yeah, I know we have the right to bear arms. Does that also give us the right to shoot somebody who cut us off on the road?
We are not mature or smart enough to have weapons by our side all the time. Sadly, if this trend continues all of us will have to be armed. Good for gun manufacturers. Not that great for people.
We seem to be regressing as a society. Going backwards instead of forward. We take one step forward and 2 steps backwards.
Sad and troubling to me.
There are too many unhinged people out there. Telling them they can have a gun or two just does not sound like a reasonable or sane thing to do.
But, I have been told I overthink things.

The 6-year-old Virginia boy who shot his first-grade teacher had a history of abusing others at school — and even choked another teacher “until she couldn’t breathe,” according to a legal filing.
“I didn’t feel safe the rest of the year because I knew if they didn’t protect me when he choked me and I couldn’t breathe, then they wouldn’t protect me, my kids or my colleagues if he did something not as harmful,” she said.
The boy — who is not being identified because of his age — was later moved into another class in another school.
But it was just part of his troubling behavior, which included constantly cursing at staff and teachers and trying to whip students with his belt, according to the notice filed by Zwerner’s attorney, Diane Toscano.
Two days before the Jan. 6 shooting at Richneck Elementary School, the boy had an angry interaction with Zwerner in which he “slammed” down her cellphone and broke it, according to the court

I am very troubled, it is more than 2 steps backward, the push, of the culture war is spreading.
Many of the issues are small, but people pushing to get power, push the strong emotions, to get power.

This person needs to be in a straight jacket and kept away from society. I don't care how young he is. He's a clear and present danger and needs to be removed from society now!
If he was an abused dog he'd be dead by now. An insane and out of control child can do a lot of damage like killing people! He's a clear and present danger. I don't care how old he is!
He needs to be separated from other children and adults before he kills someone. He's a dangerous and deadly thing.

I predict that there will someday be a backlash from such foolish permissiveness , when the senseless murders start affecting a broader range of Red state citizenry.

Telling them they can have a gun or two just does not sound like a reasonable or sane thing to do. But, I have been told I overthink things. It is because of people like that that I carry a gun. Again, I am well-trained. Of sound mind, and have a full understanding of my weapon and what it can do. However, as I said, most people who carry do not. That is where I feel like much more training before being allowed to have a gun should come in...not to mention, much deeper mental health checks....BUT, I don't believe that your statement "We (a statement encompassing everyone)are not mature or smart enough to have weapons by our side all the time. If a crazy man comes into your grocery store while you're shopping and starts shooting up the place, it's someone like me that you wnt by your side, & someone like me that could very well save your life and the lives of many others. So, don't count everyone with a gun as bad. I have been trained over the course of many years: my my father (veteran), one of my best friends (army special ops), brother-in-law (narcotics agent/officer & teacher of concealed carry classes), and my son-in-law (who is employed as a firearms expert). We aren't all the same.

Also, I wanted to add that it's ok whether you are in the minority or not here. Always feel free to express your thoughts and opinions. I believe in freedom of speech and for true freedom of speech we must be willing uphold the rights of others to express themselves whether we agree with them or not.

BTW, I don't count everyone with a gun as bad. When my sister was alive she had a rifle.
It seems like everyday there's another mass shooting. I can't even begin to imagine how parents feel sending their children to school. Sitting in a classroom is a dangerous place to be these days for a child.
Go to school and come home in a body bag.
Too many crazy people out there with access to guns. I don't have a solution. I'm just venting. I'm angry, sad, and embarrassed for my country.
