I love that video. And I had no idea a rabbit could swim!

I love that video. And I had no idea a rabbit could swim! I didn't either. The survival instinct in animals and humans can kick in and see us do the "impossible".

My cats are having a fun time in the snow today. At least somebody is enjoying it. 🐱🐾⛄ Isn't it amazing to see how happy the outdoor critters are in the winter? I've been playing outdoors with my feral cats during the winter....they love chasing snowballs and batting them back to me. After a couple hours, I leave them, then they start playing with the toys I put out for them with each other. It amazes me that they have wintered over so well.

After a couple of hours? I don't know how old you are but I'm lucky if I can stay out there for a couple of minutes. Lol. Especially when it's bitter cold. They are stronger and much more fun than I am.
I leave the door open for a little while so they can come inside if they want. I feed them in here too. But, they want to go back out when done eating.
I have hot plates to keep the food warm when I put it back out. Their cat houses with plenty of straw inside seem to be good enough for them. Our backyard looks like a mini Levittown. There is a guy here on Long Island who makes them.
Every cat I ever had, as well as the ones I have now, found me. All were ferals at one time.
Your ferals are lucky to have found you!

And I had no idea a rabbit could swim! The only two mammals that can't swim or giraffes and apes...and 2old . A bit of "kinda useless" info that came up in a work project awhile back: Dog breeds classified as brachycephalic- flat noses, etc.- usually can't swim, either.

2Old, do you have a flat nose?
I come back to this post every now and then just to smile and enjoy the animals.
Cyndy Lauper sang girls just wanna have fun. Obviously not just human girls.
Does anybody have any new videos of animals having fun?
When I was a teenager, a very long time ago, we had a friend of the family who had a pet crow. He would wrap a piece of aluminum foil into a ball and throw it as far as he could. His crow would fetch it, bring it back and drop it at his feet to throw it again..
My apologies if I told this story a few times before. Lol. I'm tempted to make an aluminum ball myself to see if the crows who finish off the food I feed to the outside cats would like to play.

I've never been without at least one dog and cat my whole life. When we lived in California and the kids were younger, we also had a house bunny, pet mice, pet rats, parakeets, and cockatiels. Up here in Vancouver, we have owned a Macaw, a grey parrot that talked a blue streak. We have some aggressive hunter cats, so when the birds passed, I did not replace them. We also had multiple aquariums with a variety of fresh water fish in both places. They are fascinating and some fish are very friendly. We lost both our Westie and Golden this year. The Westie made it almost to 17, but Sasha the Golden only made it to just past 11 due to cancer. Goldens are the greatest dogs - especially around kids. We just have the Yorkie and 2 cats now. We have not added a second dog again. I am getting up there and have no idea how much linger I'll be around. Lily, the Yorkie will probably outlive me and I do not want to leave too much responsibility and vet bills for my daughter to take care of. Fortunately, :i;y has won them all over(my daughter, grandson and great grandson) so I can be pretty well assured they will take good care of her if I go first. I just adore that little dog.
I've always known that many birds have beautiful plumage, but until I subscribed to Facebook, I had no idea how many different breeds have such spectacular plumage! Some are absolutely, stunningly gorgeous. All creatures are cool in their own way and watching them is so enjoyable.
