Australia city declaring a lockdown because of a single new Covid case. On the other hand, my state (Florida) has averaged 19,000 new cases daily for past 3 days and is wide open. Is it possible there is a lesson to be learned here? www.bbc.com/news/world-australia-55582836

I think the lesson is that Asia and Oceania, including Australia and New Zealand, are doing better than Europe, UK and US (not sure about Canada) by adopting low tech community health guidelines. These are the first line in the fight and if applied early, can buy time before vaccination is available. They can beat down clusters and hot spots before the infection becomes more widespread. This link provides current information on the state of infections in Australia. Plenty of links to other information sites. Vaccination is not likely to begin until late February. www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-17/coronavirus-cases-data-reveals-how-covid-19-spreads-in-australia/12060704?nw=0This site details the restrictions that currently apply to Greater Sydney where I live as well as some other regions where risk of C 19 infection is higher than we would like. www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/what-you-can-and-cant-do-under-rules/greater-sydney

Community health guidelines is a great idea. Easy, simple, and sensible. It would never work here in the USA. Lol.
