The agreement reached Friday is primarily aimed at expanding the safety net to cope with the potentially catastrophic economic impact of the coronavirus.
A tax cut would a disaster. I would help the working people with good pay, who do not need help.
They likely should be tax increases, for the rich to cover the cost of the added spending.

The bill passed by the House exempts businesses employing over 500 from sick leave/paid family leave. The reasoning, I guess, was that most large corporations already have a similar benefit in place. In reality, probably fearful the bill would not pass if it would penalize billionaire political donors. McDonalds, etc. have lots of minimum wage employees with no benefits. It sounds like there will be no benefits available to those. The bill also allows businesses with less than 50 employees to request a waiver. Again, many of those small businesses have no existing plan for their minimum wage workers. Our daughter's firm employs 1,200 at her location. They had already announced extending benefits for those affected by COVID-19. She says it's been a "s**t show". Employees are arguing that if they don't become ill and their coworker does, "It's not fair!". So, employees are calling in sick and using the additional benefit time so they don't get "cheated" out of it. Sheesh! This "me" generation!!
We must appreciate the display of bipartisanship between Mnuchin and Pelosi in hammering something out that Trump would sign. It is not the best we could have hoped for. It's better than nothing. The questions remain as to what will McConnell try to cut out of the benefits. And, the bragging by this administration as to how he has saved the working class when we will still see millions of minimum wage workers facing bankruptcy when ill and their employer was exempted from the bill.

In this atmosphere I am glade something with a little sense is being put out.
tramp tax cut is an extremely bad idea, that he put out just to try and get re-elected.
Any tax cut at this time would be to slow to help the economy, if it did and long term, would help to bankrupt the country.

A tax cut would help towards the killing of Social Security and Medicare. He wants both of those to run out of dollars so he can privatize those and feed money into his and his cronies pockets.
