Hubby is thinking about applying for his medical marijuana card due to his severe spinal osteoarthritis and bone cysts. Since his stroke he cannot take any over the counter pain medications due to the meds he is taking to prevent another stroke. So he is always in pain.
Since the cards are expensive we decided to visit a cannabis store to try out some of the edibles. So we purchased 2 packages of gummies.. 2 bars of chocolate and also some pain lotion containing CBD and THC... No point in getting a card if it doesn't work.
I also have sleep issues so I am planning on seeing if I am helped to get a good nights sleep..
Hubby has tried a gummy and applied some lotion. I am planning on having one square of chocolate tonight about an hour before bed.. So we shall see if it works like everyone claims it does.

I hope what you two are taking does give you relief and sleep. I've probably gone thru about 6 months of ointments of CBD and they really don't do much, one has to buy high strengths to get more help and depends how much help one needs.
I know osteoarthritis and glad I can take 1 ibuprofen and 1 OA tylenol every 6 hrs or I couldn't walk. Hip replacement in 2010 really did me in with bodywide OA. And the HGH gel is helping with the pain too, for some yrs I took double what I posted above.
If you ever want to hear my sleep combo that gives me 10 hrs restorative sleep, just say so.
There are also remedies from homeopathics for sleep issues.

There are also remedies from homeopathics for sleep issues. Well... I have figured out MY tolerance and dosage. In the early afternoon, hubby and I both took a 5mg THC gummy bear... Hubby also applied the CBD/THC lotion to his neck and lower spine.. The combination did relieve his pain significantly.. I felt very comfortable and relaxed.. and basically very happy. Later that evening we both ate a 10 mg CBD/THC square of chocolate.. which I was hoping would be my sleeping dose.... by 9pm I was "on the moon" not a pleasant feeling in the least.. in fact it had the opposite affect on me and I had a hard time falling asleep.. now I know that 10mg is twice what I need.. So never again. The good part is that there is absolutely no residual affect this morning. In other words, I feel really great this morning.. not groggy or with and "hang over"... which I would have expected by the way I felt last night. Hubby did much better with the 10mg.. but he is bigger than I am so that's not surprising. Tonight I will take a 5mg dosage around 7 or 8 pm.. to see if that improves my sleep. Hubby is going to try 5mg in the morning to improve his spine pain. It's all a matter of figuring out how to use the product and what dosage provides the result you are looking for. I'm not interested in being high.. just getting at least 8 hours of good restorative sleep.

Thanks for posting all this. It may be my next step for a persistent pain that can be debilitating at times.

Good news.... Three hours after dosing, my husband reports being pain free... That is amazing... and he's not feeling any affects other than that.. in other words... he's not high.

Thanks for posting all this. It may be my next step for a persistent pain that can be debilitating at times. If you do... start with the smallest dose of an edible. 2.5 to 5mg.. taken on an empty stomach. You should begin to feel results in about an hour. Do not redose until 2 hours have passed... because edibles can take that long to work. Overdosing in THC is not a problem... but the results could be a bit scary.... ie…. being high. The object is pain control.. not getting stoned...lol!!.
I'm so pleased that hubby feels so great on 5mg.. that's a very small amount..

Interesting and I'm glad to hear this helped your hubby....I have a relative that can't take pain meds, this could help him.

How long will this pain free be, until next edible. I never did the edibles, did some lozenges years ago and they did nothing for me. Hope it all continues.

I'm not interested in being high.. just getting at least 8 hours of good restorative sleep. Your edibles are likely Sativa, which does offer the cerebral high. The Indica is very mellow, relaxing and a sleep aid.

I don't know what type, however, I'm not getting the sleep aid I had hoped for so you must be right. Hubby on the other hand is continuing to get pain relief so that's a good thing.

Hubby on the other hand is continuing to get pain relief so that's a good thing. Glad to hear that. The thing with the CBD oil is that there are numerous strengths available, and the higher the better. For example, I bought some CBD oil that was "600mg" in potency. It was helpful for quieting my over-thinking mind, but I didn't experience any relief from the burning nerve pain in my back. I plan to go to the cannabis store again and get the most potent CBD oil they sell, at 2000mg. Will be much more expensive of course, but I CANNOT take NSAIDS period, and have no other pain relief remedies. A hot/cold compress works great, and I do use that for my neck or back if I'm going to be sitting watching TV.
I am also going to get some Indica cannibis oil(sublingual tincture) for relaxing/sleeping.

The chocolate we got is 10mg CBD and 10mg THC per serving. 10 of the THC is too much for me.. but it might work well for you and your nerve pain. Also.. there is lotion containing both CBD and THC for pain like your nerve pain in your back. You rub it on locally. It smells like Ben Gay. I use it on my feet for my peripheral neuropathy. It's helpful..

Q.S. I get the impression you don't care for my health supports but I've only been working with them going on 30 yrs...so when I see you deal with nerve pain issues too I had to mention what I would not be without, as I ended up with nerve damage from hip job. Topricin for pain and it contains 11 homeopathic solutions in the mix. Love love love it for my issues and this "older" body of OA. All the CBD stuff as I see it, many are making a lot of money as it's gone viral, but I sure gave it a trial and my good ole other stuff does it.
And everyone has different pain issues and levels and I'd guess some of the CBD stuff helps some and does not help many. I gave it a good trial and spent the money I felt I could....those who smoke the stuff I guess are in less pain, but I have no desire to smoke anything.
Ultra Tiger Balm is great too. Good wishes for you to find what works for you and your husband's issues. Just coming around after my good 10 hrs of restorative sleep.

Also.. there is lotion containing both CBD and THC for pain like your nerve pain in your back. You rub it on locally. It smells like Ben Gay. I use it on my feet for my peripheral neuropathy. It's helpful.. I have used CBD that has no THC at all, that was the 600mg potency I mentioned. Eventhough there are some edibles that are strictly CBD, it appears that most edibles are designed for those wanting the 'high', and thus do have THC as well. The two main types of cannabis(Sativa & Indica) will usually have both CBD and THC(yes, it's confusing), with Sativa usually having a greater quantity of THC than CBD. My yoga teacher / friend gave me some liquid THC for topical use...I instead took it sublingual. I don't recall if it worked or not for my pain, perhaps I was too stoned to care.
I'm glad to hear the lotion you used for your PN worked, I've been wondering about that, as I also have PN in my feet- but mainly the numbness and not the wicked lightening bolt nerve pains that I hear some folks do have.
Aside from re-visiting my misspent youth, I enjoy the high of THC and it is pretty much in-my-opinion a suitable replacement for alcoholic drinks. Having had liver issues in the past, I keep my distance from alcohol consumption.

Writing a list, checking it twice, don't know if I'll be considered naughty or nice, but if I can find where to purchase it here, legally in Mexico, I'll be shopping more than thrice. I could really use some relief and if it's helping others who mention it here, I'm for sure going to give it a try.
Thanks for all the info everyone.
I should mention, this has been on my mind a lot, but, just am not sure where to purchase it, was a little worried about asking people for fear of seeming like I'm looking for drug usage for illegal purposes, not something I would consider, but for pain relief, it this works for me, I will be one happy cbd head.
