I've always heard anyone can grow up to be the president. I never really believed that until now.
Have you had any unbelievable things actually happen?

Well,,, Being President is a rich person game anyways. So, no, not everyone can be President. It takes more money than any of us will see in several life times to run for president right up to the end.

I grew up believing elected officials put Constitution and Country ahead of political affiliation. Wrong!
I grew up believing the United States only sent our military into harm's way in defense of our freedom or for humane purposes. Wrong!
I always thought the civil rights legislation circa 1964 ended discriminatory practices. Thought those laws against discrimination would be championed by and enforced by Congress, the Supreme Court, and the President of the United States. Wrong!
I grew up believing being a Christian had nothing to do with politics. You lived the Christian way by loving your neighbor and doing unto others as you would have them do for you. We sang "red and yellow, black and white, they are precious in His sight" about the little children of the world. Christians would always put these Biblical teachings before politics. Wrong!
I often heard, growing up, there were two things certain in life... death and taxes. The "taxes" part was a certain for individuals of any income or wealth and for companies/corporations. Wrong!
A career in the workplace, I found employers and company owners shared their profits during good times with their employees. There was a commitment... an allegiance between employees and employers. Thought this would be the way all companies/corporations would operate. Wrong!
I've been wrong about so many things, some listed above. If you really want a list of everything I've ever been wrong about... my wife keeps that list in her head!!! :>)

Only started making money off his book when he it looked like he'd be the nominee.

How did we go so wrong in such a short while? That pretty well covers my list and since I'm spouse-less, there is no one else keeping score.

I always believed "As ye sow, so shall ye reap" but I haven't seen a lot of people reaping the garbage they have sown. If that were true, people like Donald Trump, Mike Pense, Lindsey Graham, Devin Nunes, Jim Jordan, Mitch McConnell, Doug Jones, Kellyanne Conway, all the adult Trump children and their significant others, evangelicals who support Trump, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Pompeo, Mick Mulvaney, and anybody else who conspired with Trump or defended him, would have been stricken gravely ill or would be impoverished by now. They have all trampled on the Constitution with spiked golf shoes and made a mockery of the democratic process. If Trump is not removed and indicted, along with his sycophantic a$$ kissers, there is no justice.

A$$ kissers is right. Impeachment procedures are on TV today and I watched a Republican Senator express their same old line, "Trump did nothing impeachable. The Democrats have wanted him impeached since he was elected." It's like they live in an alternate universe. Then they showed tRUMP once again expressing how this is a big hoax. His favorite word.

How did this happen? One thing was to encourage religion and politics to jump in bed together. That's always a good thing for a democracy.
Another thing was to beat the "we hate Hillary and want a change" drum over and over, and over. Let's put someone other than a politician in the Oval Office was also very helpful. Did I say anyone? My mistake. I meant a White, rich, incompetent, sexist, male, please.
I'm sure there's more. Lol.

Trump IS the hoax the GOP are as guilty as he is our government needs an enema An enema fed to the upper echelons of D.C. would certainly clean out the White House. Trump and his "Acting" Cabinet would be spinning downward as the toilet flushed. Immediately following them would be every Republican in House and Senate. All that would be left would be the Congressional Democrats. And... honestly... I don't think they could even agree with each other enough to get anything of consequence accomplished. Should we be able to clean house in D.C., I would put the following requirement on anyone wanting to run for Congress to fill the empty positions... 1.) Anyone who is earning, or has ever earned, over $100,000 annual salary is disqualified. 2.) Anyone who has a Law Degree and has practiced any discipline in the legal profession is disqualified. 3.) A minimum of 20% of Congressional seats must be filled with blue-collar workers. 4.) Any use of campaign funds for television, radio, newspaper ads, social media or robo calls would immediately disqualify a candidate. All campaigning must be done person to person. Candidates, for years, went from city to city by train. No reason today's candidates can't do the same. 5.) Every time a candidate stood in front of a crowd at a rally, he/she would be required to stand on a trapdoor. The first falsehood from his/her mouth would trip the trapdoor and he/she would splash down into a pool of horse manure.

My mistake. I meant a White, rich, incompetent, sexist, male, please. I'm sure there's more. Lol. I've read several books on Trump and the latest (of 2) is Joy Reid's book which explains how we came to the point that someone like this a**hole could get elected. One thing that happened is around 2000 the census bureau predicted that by 2042 whites would be in the minority. They fear they'd be treated the way they've treated minorities all these years. White supremacists groups increased, more hate crimes, etc etc. When I was first married to my husband (2000) who is a Scot, he said the US is a very racist country. I disagreed and said it was getting better all the time, and when Obama was elected I figured that was proof. Well, obviously not.
